CD Projekt Red is known for delivering some thrilling RPG experiences. The Witcher franchise put the studio on the map, and while Cyberpunk 2077’s launch might have caused the studio to stumble, they are still pushing forward. Fans of The Witcher franchise will get another serving with CD Projekt Red seeking to deliver The Witcher 4 installment in the coming years. However, we’re discovering that full production is expected this year for the upcoming title release. 

As CD Projekt staffs up for its various projects in development, the boss of the company has said it is considering adding multiplayer to the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel.

Cyberpunk 2077's sequel, codenamed Orion, could have a multiplayer component. In a recent interview, CD Projekt Red CEO Michał Nowakowski confirmed that the studio is still "considering" multiplayer for the sequel, adding an element that never made it into the first game.

With Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and all the major updates for the base game now out of the way, CD Projekt RED is looking ahead to the future with new and upcoming projects, and it looks like The Witcher 4 – or whatever it ends up being called – is going to be the next game the studio puts the bulk of its attention on.

The Witcher 4 could enter full production this year, according to CD Projekt Red. Company CEO Adam Badowski says that the team aims to get 400 devs working on the game by the middle of 2024, suggesting that the long-awaited sequel will become one of the studio's main focuses now that the ongoing development of Cyberpunk 2077 is winding down.

If we’re being honest here, Cyberpunk 2077 is the perfect example of what NOT to do when you develop and launch a video game, but it is also a perfect example of what TO DO when you screw up bad enough to tick off the large-scale fanbase that you accumulated over the years. Let’s not forget that CD Projekt Red first announced the game MANY years ago and then spent an equal number of years trying to get the game to a “certain level” before it was finally shown to the public, and even then, it kept getting delayed. By the time it was released in 2020, fans wouldn’t know what awaited them.
