Moon Studios, the folks behind the Ori platformer games, are working on a new project titled No Rest For The Wicked. The game is a Soulslike ARPG that was announced at The Game Awards late last year. The studio’s “Wicked Inside” livestream gave fans their first extended look at the game and we’ve got the details.
No Rest For The Wicked is set in the world of Isola Sacra and will task players with defeating something called the Pestilence. The game features a hand-crafted world that can be traveled across seamlessly. The developers have also incorporated a good deal of verticality into the world design, something we’ve seen more of as of late in various other ARPGs, including Diablo IV.
Unlike some other games in the space that emphasize speed, No Rest For The Wicked leverages weighty animations in combat to put more of a focus on precision. Each of the game’s various weapon types includes their own unique movesets.
Lastly, the game features a soft-class system with customizable gear in a number of different rarities.
A roadmap revealed towards the end of the stream gave players a peek into the studio’s post-launch plans, including co-op and competitive multiplayer coming in the first update. A new environment and enemies will follow in the second post-launch update.
