The Pokemon-like MMO-lite, Temtem, will be getting its final updates and the removal of all monetization according to an announcement made by its developer Crema in a new community update.
Game updates 1.7 (slated for June) will bring a new season, Tamer Pass, as well as the expected quality-of-life changes, balance tweaks, etc one expects to find in any major game update. Update 1.8, the game’s final major update, will bring more quality-of-life changes, an overhaul of the game’s economy, and more.
Microtransactions will be removed from the game with update 1.7 and Crema will allow players to purchase items previously only available via premium currency (called Novas) with in-game currency (Feathers). Previously released Tamer Passes will become permanently available in update 1.8 and players will also be able to use Feathers to unlock them.
Crema also reassured players that the servers will remain online, with no plans to develop an offline mode. However, if for some reason the servers did need to be taken down in the future, Crema promises to “find ways to make the game available for everyone” even if that includes making an offline mode available down the line.
