Mortal Kombat 1 Adds Three More Characters - Hardcore Gamer

A new trailer was shown off for Mortal Kombat 1 as part of the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream. Beyond being another peek at the narrative, there are a few character reveals, as well.

Mortal Kombat 1 has been the talk of the gaming world for some time now. Since it was confirmed earlier this year and promised a new paradigm for the Kombatants, fans and critics alike have been eager to see what would happen and who would make the cut. At Gamescom, Ed Boon promised that there would be a new trailer and some surprises along the way, and he didn’t disappoint. Not only did we get three character reveals, but some new Kameo fighter reveals as well. The twist is that everything focused on Outworld and the power struggle that lies within. Oh, and a god made an appearance too.

A new was shown off during today’s Gamescom opening night presentation, revealing four characters who will be in the game — two as playable characters and the other two as Kameo Fighters.

Mortal Kombat 1 has just given us our first look at Sindel during Gamescom Opening Night Live, as well as gameplay featuring Shao Kahn. The two will be joining the main fighter's roster.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon showed up to Gamescom’s Opening Night Live stream on Tuesday and brought what Boon described as the “craziest trailer of all” from Mortal Kombat 1. That could be considered an exaggeration, right up until Sindel — a newly confirmed fighter — nearly rips off Raiden’s legs like he’s a rotisserie chicken and yanks General Shao’s skull and spine clean out of his torso.

As expected,Mortal Kombat fans just got their first look at four new Mortal Kombat 1 fighters during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. 

It’s less than a month until release, and the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, which was made available to those who pre-ordered the game, provides a taste of what’s to come. While it doesn’t showcase the story mode or all the fighters available in the video game, it demonstrates how this soft reboot may rejuvenate the franchise in all the right ways.
