MLB The Show 24's PS5, PS4 Collector's Edition Is Extremely Unique and Cool | Push Square

MLB The Show 24 has revealed that a Storylines mode will follow the career of Derek Jeter, in which players can replay some of the ballplayer's most iconic moments. The new reveal comes after a recent announcement that also drummed up some excitement for this year's MLB The Show.

It's tough to get a read on the current state of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, published by Konami, and supposedly launching later this year. Surfacing at Sony's recent State of Play showcase, long-suffering fans were subjected to a combat trailer which seemed out of touch with the series's more cerebral roots.

The new open world survival game set in the Terminator universe, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, and also GreedFall II: The Dying World will be three of the games publisher Nacon is set to reveal during its next Nacon Connect event. It'll take place on 29th February 2024 at 6pm GMT / 10am PT, with around 30 minutes of news and information prepared.

Players booting up Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered will be greeted by a content warning explaining why current custodian Crystal Dynamics kept in some of the iffier moments from the earlier games. The first three entries in the series were developed by UK studio Core Design in the 90s. They featured some unfortunate racial and ethnic stereotypes, which Crystal Dynamics has decided to preserve for future generations.

Ubisoft is also back in the bestsellers list with Skull and Bones, the online pirate action title that was in development for a thousand years. It's sailed into fourth place, which isn't a bad debut for a game everyone seems to have written off.

Sony’s continuing to bring a hearty helping of emulated classics to PS5 and PS4 courtesy of its PS Plus Premium subscription, and alongside Resistance Retribution, it’ll be adding Jet Moto 2 from 20th February. The original game in the SingleTrac series is already available on the Japanese giant’s contemporary consoles, but this sequel is much more ambitious, with zanier course designs including an active volcano and a dilapidated American city.

FromSoftware took the extremely influential Dark Souls formula open world with its magnum opus, Elden Ring, ably assisted in this by publisher and co-IP holder Bandai Namco. Now, it appears that potentially, thanks to that significant injection of cash from Sony and Tencent to a 30% stake, FromSoftware is the sole proprietor of the IP, with Bandai Namco transferring ownership rights back in April 2023.

Days Gone developer Bend Studio’s awesome third-person shooter Resistance Retribution is coming to PS5 and PS4 as part of PS Plus Premium from 20th February, 2024. The excellent PSP game, which introduces British protagonist Lieutenant James Grayson and is set in Paris, first launched in 2009 on Sony’s handheld, where it attracted a strong fanbase and garnered cult status.

NIS America will publish the latest game in the Ys series, Ys X: Nordics, this autumn / fall in the west. The action RPG originally launched last September in Japan, and a localisation announcement has been on the cards ever since.

MLB The Show has announced that this year's game, MLB The Show 24, will feature the franchise's first female player, the Negro Leagues' Toni Stone. MLB The Show's Negro Leagues Season 2 follows the feature's introduction in last year's title.
