The title is developed by Lazy Bear Games, which previously released life sim, and published by Riot Forge, a Riot Games subsidiary dedicated to exploring new genres within the universe. The game expands upon established ideas in satisfying ways, and takes its cozy concepts in a fairly unique direction through an eclectic blend of mechanics, but some sections of the game that drag hold it back from perfection.

League of Legends is a competitive game that demands concentration, focus, and knowledge of both the champion and the map. By contrast,Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story is a cheerful crafting RPG that’s equal parts whimsical and satisfying. Bandle Tale stars a Yordle, a furry little fae-style creature who lives in the realm of Bandle City. A party goes haywire, and the portal network connecting the islands of Bandle City falls apart. Luckily, the protagonist has just completed a hundred-year apprenticeship that lends them the ability to magically knit the portals back together — with a little training, elbow grease, and can-do thinking.

Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story is a new game about getting out of your comfort zone and connecting with others. In many ways, that’s also the story of Riot Forge. The publishing label pushed its corporate parent Riot Games out of its AAA design instincts to expand the world of Runterra. There’s only so much narrative you can weave into something like League of Legends, and all of Riot Forge’s games offered unique perspectives that enriched this world. I found fulfillment in that strategy too, as someone who enjoys the world of Runeterra, but didn’t want to play League of Legends itself. It’s a treatment that few well-known franchises get outside comic book universes, Warhammer, and Star Wars.

Lazy Bear Games’ Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story, a cozy role-playing game based on Riot’s League of Legends, launches on February 21st for Nintendo Switch and PC. It’s available to pre-order and includes bonuses like the Bandle Scout Hat, Bandle Scout Poro, Evergreen Cottage and more.

League of Legends’ lore has grown so large and in-depth that it can no longer be contained by just the original game. Bandle Tale has to be the cutest RPG game I’ve seen in ages, and it was only just revealed by Riot Forge. The team behind League of Legends is teaming up with Lazy Bear Games, an indie developer best known for its iconic farming game, Graveyard Keeper, to bring us a cozy crafting experience all about yordles. That’s right, Teemo lovers. Bandle Tale is set in Bandle City, where you play as a shy yordle from Yarnville who excels at knitting. With a mix of LoL champions and Stardew Valley vibes, what’s not to love?

In this enchanting adventure, you will go on a journey of a lifetime with Nunu and Willump, a duo that makes up one of the League of Legends champions, across the frozen landscapes of Frelijord, which is the perfect setting for its winter release.
