The third Sonic the Hedgehog movie is due to close out 2024, but before then comes a TV show spin-off. Simply named Knuckles, the short series focuses on the powerful echidna, introduced in the second film and voiced by Idris Elba. You can watch the brand new trailer above.
Over the course of six episodes, Knuckles is set between films two and three, and centres around the red ball of fury making a place for himself in his new surroundings. New character Wade (Adam Pally) looks to be his human buddy, and Knuckles will be training him in the ways of his people. Meanwhile, a very angry-looking ex-employee of Robotnik is out for revenge against him, and is using his own power against him in some souped-up tech.
The show will be on Paramount+ in the US and Canada starting 26th April. It's not known where the series will be broadcast from in the UK, but you may be able to watch it via the bolt-on Paramount+ package for Amazon Prime.
Will you be watching Knuckles before the next film arrives later in the year? Let us know in the comments section below.
Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.
I thought this seemed pointless when announced, but i’m totally in.
Nice to see «The Ocho» make a comeback!
It's still pretty insane to think the Sonic movie was a big enough hit to get a Knuckles spinoff but I'm in. Looks like a fun watch!
I thought Knuckles was the worst part of the last Sonic movie thought he was written poorly and didnt go much on Idris voicing him.
Surprising to me that this looks looks as good as it does.
I'm in....
it looks awesome, count me in
This show looks so good. Hopefully it’s also available to purchase on iTunes. I have no problem with a digital purchase but I’m way over subscriptions.
Knuckles is so cute

My experience with Warhams isn't flat zero - I had some minifigs when I was a teenager and played a few of the Dawn Of War video games - but I haven't actively checked in on it for a while. I know enough to make "[x] for the [x] throne!" jokes, basically. My experience with cleaning-stuff-sim PowerWash Simulator is extensive, though, and I was excited when the crossover with Warhammer 40K was teased a while back. Last night we got a full trailer and release date of Frebruary 27th - next week! - and I'm now earnestly very excited. The trailer is both very funny and shows off massive things to clean. Win win, innit.
It's tough to get a read on the current state of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, published by Konami, and supposedly launching later this year. Surfacing at Sony's recent State of Play showcase, long-suffering fans were subjected to a combat trailer which seemed out of touch with the series's more cerebral roots.
Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the Star Wars Jedi series and Apex Legends, seems to be in the early stages of developing a first-person Mandalorian game. Sadly, it appears to be set during an earlier, pre-Grogu timeframe, but the prospect of hunting bounties for the Galactic Empire seems like a fun time.
The UK's latest boxed games chart is in, and it's been invaded by a couple of new releases to shake things up. Nintendo's latest Switch exclusive predictably takes the top spot, knocking Hogwarts Legacy back down to second place. Ubisoft is also back in the bestsellers list with Skull and Bones, the online pirate action title that was in development for a thousand years. It's sailed into fourth place, which isn't a bad debut for a game everyone seems to have written off.
It’s only been three years since Daniel Craig's last hurrah as James Bond in No Time to Die, but rumors about his successor and what’s in the works for the next set of films have been swirling ever since. Unfortunately, the search for a new James Bond actor may not have progressed as fans hoped.

One of the big talking points emerging as part of Microsoft’s rumoured switch in strategy is that a reduction in competition could result in complacency from PlayStation and its army of first-party developers. The issue, according to some, is that if Xbox were to abandon its own hardware – which, for the record, isn’t what any speculation is suggesting – Sony would have no real reason to compete.
