Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown publisher Nacon and developer KT Racing have been releasing a number of videos over the past couple of months highlighting the various playstyles in the game, such as The Cruiser and The Racer, and now we’ve got a look another playstyle in The Explorer.

You’ll need to be connected to the Internet to enjoy Nacon’s upcoming social racer Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. This brand-new trailer, which shows the off-road areas of Hong Kong Island, demonstrates the breadth of experiences available in the upcoming game – and it also showcases its MMO aspects, which have been a big part of the property in the past.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown looks promising, but it comes with a downside that may turn away interested players, and that's an always-online requirement. Solar Crown is anupcoming racing game with a focus on its multiplayer sandbox. Slated for a 2024 release, the game leans into its branding not only as a racer but as a lifestyle experience, allowing players to explore the lush nature of Hong Kong Island, complete with offroad driving, at 1:1 scale to the real-world location.

Long before the Suicide Squad went on to try about killing the Justice League, it dug its own grave. The action-adventure shooter from Rocksteady was born with the burden of living up to the lofty standards set by the studio's beloved Batman: Arkham games. Then, it stepped on a rake when last year's gameplay reveal confirmed that the game would be an always-online, live service looter shooter — a departure from Rocksteady's repertoire of narrative-focussed single-player experiences. Publisher Nacon and developer KT Racing have frequently described upcoming open world racer Test Drive Unlimited as a shared world multiplayer experience, similar to the likes of Forza Horizon and The Crew, so it’s no surprise that it’s now been confirmed that the game will require a persistent internet connection.
