Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the Star Wars Jedi series and Apex Legends, seems to be in the early stages of developing a first-person Mandalorian game. Sadly, it appears to be set during an earlier, pre-Grogu timeframe, but the prospect of hunting bounties for the Galactic Empire seems like a fun time.
Word comes to us by way of an exclusive from Insider Gaming, whose sources say it will have a focus on fast-paced, frenetic gameplay; the impression we get is of a single-player Apex Legends set in the Star Wars universe, which, quite frankly, sounds sick. Playing as an unknown Mandalorian bounty hunter, this mobility will be facilitated by the iconic jetpack, which can perform horizontal dashing, vertical jumping, and boost sliding (think Apex's downhill slide). These sources describe the game as «very fast-paced», which is encouraged by the player's health predominately being restored through successive kills.
Gadgetry like Boba Fett's wrist rocket, grappling hook, and augmented visor to profile intergalactic degenerates were teased, and it's understood the game will be made up of linear levels taking place across the galaxy, in iconic locations from across the Star Wars universe. Insider's sources suggest Respawn is still likely around two years away from release, and we're sure to learn more in the intervening months.

Khayl Adam is the second best video game journalist Australia has ever produced, and his ambitions of world domination have (thus far) been curbed by the twin siren songs of strategy games and CRPGs. He has always felt an affinity for the noble dachshund, the best kind of dog.
I personally never seen a star wars movie or tv show in its completion but I am intrested in a bounty hunter game ever since I've seen the original prey 2 trailer before it got rebooted.
This sounds cool. But I can't help but think that a co-op squad shooter a la Ghost Recon Wildlands, where ever squadmate can be customized to the gills with all sorts of armor and weaponry, then be set loose on a giant planet/map where you hunt down all sorts of scum together (or with human allies taking the place of your cohorts) would make for a more cooler blueprint for a Mandalorian game. If I'm bounty hunting, I wouldn't want that to be in a linear game. I want to feel like I have to do the actual hunting. Especially if it's a nameless/unknown character. Want to do a story-focused linear FPS? Ok. Then make me Boba Fett or someone and tell a story. But if it's a blank slate? Let me inhabit a character I make and let me loose in the world. If anything, make it
