A new update has resolved long-standing issues with some of its most broken weapons. Version 1.000.302 is a huge update, making sweeping changes to balance and patching out a wide variety of gameplay issues. This comes less than a week since the previous patch, which did more harm than good by introducing more bugs to an already-struggling game.
As the first update since 's victory in the PSN catastrophe, these much-needed changes should help restore some of the game's goodwill. After developers abruptly announced would require all players to sign in with a PlayStation Network account, it saw review bombs, mass refunds, and general unrest that completely tanked the game's Steam score and player count in just a matter of days. The decision was quickly reversed, but some players may yet be hesitant to return. The latest update may help ' case.
After forcing Sony to backtrack its PSN account-sharing requirement, the Helldivers 2 community wants to remember its win with topical cosmetics.
According to the patch notes, shared on Reddit by user SovietMarma, the latest update has explicitly addressed issues with weapons that deal damage over time — especially its long-suffering fire damage. This follows a poll last month that allowed players to choose which of 's biggest issues would be addressed in future updates. The option for bug fixes was one of the frontrunners, and damage over time/fire damage bugs are among the most common complaints.
In the previous version of, damage over time effects didn't work as intended. Sometimes, only a lobby's host would be able to apply them successfully. Other players would be able to do damage when hitting enemies with DoT weapons like flamethrowers, but even if they were burning, that damage would stop as soon as the player took their finger off the trigger. At other times, non-host players would only be able to deal DoT effects inconsistently — sometimes they'd work just fine, and sometimes they didn't.
The DoT issue could be incredibly frustrating, and effectively made some of the best weapons and Stratagems useless. Burning damage is incredibly powerful in , especially with the right Ship Modules. It's especially useful against bugs, who are extra susceptible to fire. It poses a bit of a friendly fire risk, especially considering how quickly fire damage can take out a Helldiver. But when applied carefully, fire damage is one of the most useful tools in the arsenal.
The DoT update applies to poison damage as well, but as fire damage is more powerful and more commonly used, it's likely most players' primary concern.
Thankfully, the patch notes specifically reference the inconsistency of fire damage, and say the update should have resolved it once and for all.

Though is filled with plenty of romanceable villagers and NPCs to befriend, there are certain underrated NPCs players have always had a soft spot for. There’s the Hat Mouse, selling hats out of the decrepit building to the south of Cindersnap Forest; Krobus, who runs a shop out of the town’s sewers; and the Dwarf, who hides in the mines. These characters don’t often interact with the townspeople, instead making their relationship with the character a special one – though it seems the changes in the 1.6 update has made one of those characters a bit more sociable.
It’s safe to say that Starfield didn’t quite nail the landing, but Bethesda has been chipping away on improvements, and the latest May update has revamped a much-maligned aspect of navigation to seriously improve how the game plays.
Last month, a Helldivers 2 update made it so that the fewer players you had in your party, the more enemy patrols would spawn. Playing the game solo became significantly harder, but thankfully, developer Arrowhead is rolling it back.
Elysian Acoustics is finally pushing into the mid-range with the announcement of its Pilgrim pair of in-ear monitors. While it is best known for its Diva and Annihilator earphones, $1,599 and $2,999 respectively, the Pilgrim comes to market at $399 while retaining the company’s signature detailed sound and beautiful design. It features a hybrid, triple--driver design, and is available at HiFiGo now.
The community has issued its own major order to help clean up the mass review bombing that the game has received recently. 's review scores plummeted on Steam following the announcement that players would have to link their accounts to the PlayStation Network to continue, something that some were reluctant to do, and also prevented entire regions from accessing the game.
has made waves as a live-service game that offers the complete package of fun gameplay, an engaging community, and interesting updates, but one move could undo a huge portion of what it's built over the past few months. As a sequel to the modestly popular top-down shooter, the third-person follow-up has managed to go toe-to-toe with major IPs and stands out as one of the biggest successes of 2024. Not everyone has been able to get in on the fun – isn't available on Xbox – but that hasn't slowed its momentum much.
may already be littered with unique weapons for players to equip to their party but those who want something a little more iconic to the world of fantasy are lucky thanks to a new mod. Through players' adventures across the Forgotten Realms, they'll undoubtedly come across piles of powerful loot to help beef up the stats of Astarion, Shadowheart, Wyll, and anyone else you might need an edge in combat. enthusiasts may recognize some of the more notorious weapons but now it's time for fans to shine.
A recent update makes dangerous changes to its most feared enemies. Stalkers, members of the Terminid faction, are some of the most dangerous bugs in . Their unique ability allows them to disguise themselves, allowing them to get the jump on players. Stalkers will often appear out of the blue when they're least expected, and if the players don't respond quickly, can wipe out an entire party in a manner of seconds. They're especially difficult to see through thick fog and fire tornadoes, making them even more of a threat during inclement weather.
is making a massive change to its PC version and the community couldn't be more annoyed. Ever since the popular third-person shooter launched on PlayStation 5 and Steam, the game has boasted an enormous player base that's only grown larger as developer Arrowhead Studios has continued to support the game with extensive content patches. Unfortunately, many of those users who have participated in Super Earth's galactic war are disgruntled because of a new requirement that may make it significantly harder to enjoy the game.
