Helldivers 2 propaganda hits a new peak as devs lie about flying bugs while players forge documents: "These traitors are working overtime to fill your heads with lies"

As the Helldivers 2 community formally piles into Malevelon Creek for a surprise Major Order following a failed operation, creative director and Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt says the studio is talking about ways to make such orders easier to understand.

There are few individuals as mysterious as Helldivers 2's galactic game master Joel – the man pulling all the strings of the war, constantly working to evolve the third-person shooter's evolving narrative, as well as issuing Major Orders to us all. 

Don't back down, double down. The Helldivers 2 propaganda machine is spinning up once again after the horrible flying Terminid bugs debuted in the game, something its creative director dismissed as "propaganda from bug sympathizers" when players first reported it.

Helldivers 2 players have finally secured undeniable proof of blue lasers and flying Terminids appearing in the game, much to the dismay of the game's director.

Keep your head down, Helldiver, blue sniper beams (that may or may not exist) are rampant. Helldivers 2 players have been sharing footage of what seems like a new unfriendly faction in the game, though the shooter's director is determined to suppress such anti-democratic lies. 

While continues to dominate the video game industry, one star is eager for a crossover with the game his film inspired. It doesn't take a lot to recognize that Arrowhead Studios' game and Paul Verhoeven's cult-classic sci-fi have a great deal in the company especially given that both act as satirical comments on the modern military-industrial complex and the influence of propaganda on society. Despite these heavy themes, there's still a great amount of fun to be had in either given that they also spotlight soldiers firing big weapons at giant alien bugs.

Helldivers 2’s new premium Warbond, dubbed Cutting Edge, is out now and has added a number of new weapons, gear, and armor to the game, as well as cosmetic items such as emotes. But while many players of Arrowhead’s co-op shooter are getting stuck in, some are debating whether the premium Warbond strays into pay-to-win territory.

Arrowhead Game Studios has quietly introduced flying bugs to Helldivers 2.

From fire tornadoes and meteor showers last week to new armour and weapons later this week, Arrowhead Game Studios’ accelerated post-launch plans for Helldivers 2 have been bearing fruit in some interesting ways. Most intriguing have been the developer’s ongoing live service storytelling efforts, which have now taken the form of flying bugs- but don’t let any of the Super Earth faithful hear you say that.

Helldivers 2 is continuing its strong reign by introducing yet another round of space bugs for us to deal with. Also, some of them seem to be flying. What's that all about Joel?!

Just as Helldivers 2 tweaked the spawn rates for the game’s super-armored Terminids, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has added a new threat — flying bugs. Arrowhead did not mention the Terminids with wings in the patch notes from Tuesday, but players on social media and forums reported spotting the creatures in-game. The new Terminids are called Shriekers, and are quite terrifying as they dive and attack.
