GTA 6 dev bemoans trailer leak: ‘This f***ing sucks’

An ex-Rockstar Games developer has explained why GTA 3's protagonist, Claude, never spoke in the game despite being surrounded by very talkative characters.

Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer gives fans of the open-world crime franchise a peek at the first new GTA in more than a decade. As impressive as GTA 6 looks, it comes with immense expectations. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto 5, is one of the biggest games of all time; Rockstar has sold more than 190 million copies of the game across three console generations, and following that massive success won’t be an easy task.

Yesterday, after literally years of speculation, rumors, and leaks, Rockstar finally dropped the first teaser for Grand Theft Auto VI. The trailer has gone over well for the most part, although some were surprised to note that the game will only be launching on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, not PC. Rockstar has made a habit of this over the years, but the industry has changed and outside of console exclusives either developed or paid for by Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, it’s extremely rare these days for a big AAA game to be released exclusively on console without a PC version. May as well grab those extra bucks from PC players at launch, right? So, why are Rockstar and Take Two Interactive sticking with the console-first approach when almost everyone else has abandoned it?

GTA 6, just like every other game in the series, will be a satirical take on the United States. Rockstar's sights are set firmly on Florida this time around, with the developer recently having confirmed the game will take place in Vice City, the GTA equivalent of Miami. To get the tone and absurdity of Florida as accurate as possible, it seems as though Rockstar looked to real-life events that took place in the state as inspiration for the game's first trailer.

The first trailer for has finally been revealed as part of Rockstar Games' 25th Anniversary celebrations. The trailer introduced players to a revamped, modernized version of Vice City and the wider Florida-inspired area of Leonida, along with the game's main protagonists, Lucia and Jason.

Ned Luke, best known to many as Michael in GTA 5, was among the fans most excited for the GTA 6 trailer. In a two-hour watchalong and react stream on his personal YouTube, the voice actor shared his thoughts on the long-awaited open-world follow-up, and boy were a lot of those thoughts about butts.

Rockstar Games is finally revealing information surrounding the release of the highly-anticipated . Over the years, there have been several rumors and plenty of speculation surrounding the title's release date and what platforms the game will come to, and these have finally been confirmed by the studio alongside a trailer for the game.

The wait is finally over, and perhaps a little prematurely so. Rockstar Games, the publisher of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series, promised that they will release the first trailer of GTA 6 today, at 9 AM ET (7:30 PM IST). However, the trailer was leaked online a few hours ago. Once the news broke, Rockstar Games also released the game officially, much ahead of the schedule. The trailer, even when it was dropped unexpectedly, confirms many small details we have seen over the past year, such as the first female protagonist Lucia, and the Vice City setting. Additionally, the trailer also reveals the launch date, or more like the launch year of the game as well.

Ahead of its proper reveal on Tuesday, the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer has leaked early, prompting Rockstar to release it itself.
