Rockstar Games is finally revealing information surrounding the release of the highly-anticipated . Over the years, there have been several rumors and plenty of speculation surrounding the title's release date and what platforms the game will come to, and these have finally been confirmed by the studio alongside a trailer for the game.
The trailer confirmed the game's Bonnie and Clyde-esque duo, Lucia and Jason, and provided a look at the game's Florida-inspired location, Leonida. Leonida will include an overhauled Vice City, which still retains its 80s aesthetic from and despite being modernized with social media clips on display to showcase some of the denizens players are likely to cross paths with.
While 's trailer confirmed that the gamewill be released in 2025, it didn't mention what platforms the game will be released on. However, an accompanying press release from Take-Two Interactive confirmed that will be a current-gen exclusive on consoles, coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X devices. This is hardly a surprising move from Rockstar, as it will be nearing five years since both consoles launched by the time is released.
Rockstar's previous release, already seemed to be pushing last-gen hardware to its limits back in 2018 with its incredible amount of detail and immersion in its open world. is set to be running on an even more powerful version of Rockstar's in-house RAGE engine than, so it's likely that the PS4 and Xbox One systems simply wouldn't be able to handle it.
The press release included no mention of a PC release, indicating that will be released on PC at a later date. PC Gamer reached out to Rockstar to inquire about a PC release date, but was simply told "."
While this will be disappointing for a large portion of the fanbase who were hoping Rockstar would leave the console-exclusivity window behind, it does align with the release pattern for Rockstar's other major titles from the past decade, and. Both games had console launches around a year before their PC counterparts, but the PC releases included bonus features upon launch to make up for the delay. If Rockstar follows this pattern, PC players could get their hands on some time in 2026.

Rockstar pulled the virtual trigger, finally giving us a glimpse of GTA VI.
Here's how GTA 6's Vice City stacks up against the 2002 version, as well as the real-life locations that inspired it.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer gives fans of the open-world crime franchise a peek at the first new GTA in more than a decade. As impressive as GTA 6 looks, it comes with immense expectations. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto 5, is one of the biggest games of all time; Rockstar has sold more than 190 million copies of the game across three console generations, and following that massive success won’t be an easy task.
There was little doubt that the GTA VI trailer would do well in terms of viewership. Still, the debut video of Rockstar's massively anticipated new game surpassed even the rosiest expectations.
Fans around the world exploded with excitement Monday when Rockstar Games released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI , or GTA 6 -- the most hotly anticipated game of the decade. The first look at the next instalment in the blockbuster series follows years of feverish speculation about the setting, characters and atmosphere of GTA VI.
Yesterday, after literally years of speculation, rumors, and leaks, Rockstar finally dropped the first teaser for Grand Theft Auto VI. The trailer has gone over well for the most part, although some were surprised to note that the game will only be launching on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, not PC. Rockstar has made a habit of this over the years, but the industry has changed and outside of console exclusives either developed or paid for by Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, it’s extremely rare these days for a big AAA game to be released exclusively on console without a PC version. May as well grab those extra bucks from PC players at launch, right? So, why are Rockstar and Take Two Interactive sticking with the console-first approach when almost everyone else has abandoned it?
While most folks are desperate to know when Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto 6 after teasing a 2025 window in the highly anticipated game’s first trailer, I’ve spent all day trying to answer a much different question: When the heck does GTA 6 actually take place?
Rockstar Games revealed the first trailer for , which already seems to be on its way to beating the record held by its predecessor,. The trailer confirmed the game's Bonnie and Clyde-esque duo, Lucia and Jason, and provided a look at the game's Florida-inspired location, Leonida, which includes a modernized version of the fan-favorite location, Vice City.
Rockstar has released the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 early, and in 12 hours it's already smashed through 60 million views (and counting). Needless to say the 90-second video is jam-packed full of details and hints about what we'll be getting up to in Vice City, and if you want the nuts-and-bolts breakdown we've got you covered. But one element of the trailer really jumped out at me: TikTok framing, and the real-world parallels.
What is Leonida in GTA 6? The GTA 6 trailer is here, and with it appears to have come an interesting addition to the geographical world of Vice City. The word 'Leonida' appears multiple times in the video, but it seems to be a new term for the series, so what exactly is it?
GTA 6 marks a "new vision" for developer Rockstar Games and the series at large.
GTA 6's reveal trailer was meant to go up today, but it was leaked. So, Rockstar pushed it out early, which is great as now we can see what it looks like without a big crypto ad plastered on top.
