Anticipated sequel Ghostrunner 2 now has a confirmed release date on PS5. The adrenaline-fueled action-platformer will dash to Sony's current-gen console on the 26th October, and you can get a better look at its brand of cyberpunk violence in the new gameplay trailer, embedded above.
If you're interested in playing the game a little earlier, publisher 505 Games has revealed the 'Brutal Edition', which comes in at a fairly steep £64.99 / $69.99. Stumping up gets you 48 hours of early access, and the season pass comes bundled into the deal, which will apparently offer a «new game mode», «four asset packs», and some cosmetic extras.
Given how well the original Ghostrunner was received, we're expecting good things from this sequel. Are you excited for Ghostrunner 2? Make sure your blade's sharp in the comments section below.
Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
I really really can't fathom why they'd choose a release date like that. I think it should still be fine, due to the quality of the original, but why release it in the most packed month in years? Why not wait a month or two?
Releasing in a super stacked month/Time frame? Do they want this to fail lol
If people want it, they'll buy it. A lot is coming out in October, doesn't mean you have to buy them all, just buy the ones you want so I never understand why people say a game will fail because it's released near another game.
@NinjaNicky Well, I don't think that it'll fail, but the problem is that there are just too many games in October that I do actually want. I'm definitely getting Spider-Man and Mario, but I do want this, Lords of the Fallen and AC: Mirage as well. It's just impossible to buy or play all of those games in such a short time frame, though.
If it wasn’t right after Spider-Man 2, I’d be on it day one. Loved the first game.
Ghostrunner is fantastic. Is Daniel Deluxe still handling the soundtrack? Sure hope so.
@Toilet_Goat I had that same initial reaction to the date. I would have released it in December. But I don’t actually think it’s a problem. I feel like this is not a game for everyone but if it is for you then it’s very much for you. It is very much a game for me so I’m way more excited for this than any of the big games releasing in October.
Ohhhhh God!!! Why end of the year is getting so Packed??? they had the whole year but everyone Dropping their games on end of year, Not Complaining tho just worry about the backlog that I have to carry to next year! LOL
@Toilet_Goat I'm quite lucky my birthday is December, I'll buy Assassins Creed then
