Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online adds Mega Man I, II, III, IV, and V

Nintendo has confirmed the next Nintendo Direct will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 18th June, at 3PM BST (UK time).

Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct on June 18 at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET, featuring 40 minutes of information focused on Switch games due out in the second half of 2024, the company announced. There will be no mention of the successor to Switch. You will be able to watch it on YouTube (America, Europe, Japan) and Nintendo.com (America, Europe, Japan).

Ratalaika Games, in partnership with Masaya Games and Shinyuden, will release side-scrolling action platformer Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch on July 5. Wishlisting is now available via PlayStation Store.

Lollipop Chainsaw remake Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam on September 25 worldwide for $49.99 and September 26 in Japan for 6,490 yen, developer Dragami Games announced. It will support English and Japanese voice-overs, and English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Traditional Chinese text.

Last week during the Summer Game Awards, Sony announced Lego Horizon Adventures, which, surprisingly, is coming to PC, PS5, and… Nintendo Switch. Of course, Sony has become more open to bringing their games to PC in recent years, but launching on another competing console is still very rare for PlayStation outside of the MLB The Show series where the decision was forced by MLB.

SEGA has released a new trailer for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble confirming Axel from Crazy Taxi as a playable character included with the $24.99 “SEGA Pass” downloadable content.

“Comedy slapformer” adventure game Thank Goodness You’re Here! will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on August 1, publisher Panic and developer Coal Supper announced. The PlayStation 4 version is newly announced. A demo will be available for PC on June 10.

The Switch version of RPG Maker WITH will launch on October 11 in the west, publisher NIS America announced.

Multiple big-name Nintendo franchises have been getting reports and leaks lately regarding which ones are headed to the Switch 2. The latest one points to the next entry in the franchise being in production right now for the new system; if so, Nintendo may be banking on the growing franchise to move units for its upcoming console.

Publisher NIS America and developer Falcom will release a demo for The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak for PlayStation 4 and Switch on June 4 in the west, the companies announced. Save data from the demo will carry over to the full release.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door’s Nintendo Switch remake was the biggest new release last week, and unsurprisingly, the game has got off to a solid start with its sales all over the world, reflecting its strong critical acclaim. As per the newest charts for weekly physical software and hardware sales in Japan released by Famitsu, the remake was the best-selling game in the region last week, selling over 115,000 units.
