Former PlayStation Exec is Joining EA

Microsoft’s expanded multiplatform efforts are set to continue later this month with the release of Sea of Thieves on PS5, and ahead of the port’s release, Rare has published an official FAQ, where a handful of new details and tidbits have been revealed.

PlayStation 5 Slim — or PS 5 Slim — went on sale in India on Friday, and customers can now purchase the gaming console online or via retail stores. In order to boost sales of the device, the company has partnered with hyperlocal delivery platform Blinkit to deliver the slimmed down version of its flagship gaming console to customers within minutes, in select cities. Sony has made both the PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition available for purchase in India.

The PS5 was launched globally in 2019 and was highly sought after, so much so that scalpers started reselling it on eBay for massive profits. With the shortage over and gamers enjoying a selection of excellent games, Sony has launched the latest iteration of the PS5, dubbed the PS5 Slim.

Indian quick commerce company Blinkit has now promised to bring the all-new PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim to gamers' doorsteps. This move comes amidst the launch of the new Sony PS5 Slim in India and its sale commencing today at 10 AM IST, and the company aims to make it more easily accessible, taking advantage of Blinkit's 10-minute delivery services which are usually used for grocery and other household goods.

Unlike the Xbox and Switch, PlayStation's top 10 games ranked by average monthly active users (MAU) don't contain any first-party titles. Most of the slots on PlayStation, as well as on other platforms, are taken up by industry titans like Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Modern Warfare 3.

The newest PlayStation Portal update appears to have improved the device's overall video quality while remotely playing PlayStation 5 titles. Many PlayStation fans are excited and reporting their observations, since Remote Play on PlayStation Portal may become even more optimized in the future.

Jim Ryan shared one last thing about PlayStation, that was clearly for the fans.

PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan is working his final day as the head of Sony's gaming giant, as the executive is set to retire from the company on March 29. Ryan was promoted to the position in 2019 and led PlayStation through some of its most successful years.

Sony has revealed the three games that will be free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers in the month of May, and a couple of notable names are on the list. For starters, there’s Immortals of Aveum (for PS5 users only), Ascendant Studios’ single player magic FPS. CEO Bret Robins said in November last year that the game would eventually be coming to subscription services, and here it is. Now to see if it also launches for Game Pass.

As is the case every month, PlayStation Plus is changing its roster of games in April, giving players new titles that they can add to their libraries and keep for as long as they're subscribed. PlayStation Plus is divided into three tiers – Essential, Extra, and Premium. While there are some specific perks for the upper tiers, the main difference between them is the number of titles available for players to download or stream from PlayStation's extensive console history.

Veteran Sony executive Connie Booth exited PlayStation after a 30-year career at the firm, a surprising move that caused some confusion late last year after outspoken God of War creator David Jaffe let the cat out of the bag on social media. We still don't have the full details on her departure or whether the split was amicable, but we do know where Booth will end up next. The illustrious exec has accepted the very impressive-sounding title of Group General Manager, Action RPG, at EA.
