PlayStation 2 Has Sold 160 Million Units, As Revealed By Jim Ryan

One gamer has discovered a bag of officially licensed PlayStation-branded pasta from Italy, each piece of which is shaped like the four iconic sacred symbols. While he may not be as well known as, say, Jim Ryan, longtime PlayStation fans will no doubt recognize the name Gio Corsi. As PlayStation’s former senior director of third party production, Corsi spearheaded a lot of initiatives – he was particularly noted as a booster of the PS Vita and was responsible for bringing a lot of Japanese Vita titles to a worldwide audience. He also was responsible for jumpstarting interest in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise worldwide after the series initially kind of sputtered out in the West.

Hideo Kojima and Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake have teased a mysterious project they're involved in at Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima is known for working with a number of high-profile actors and creators and inserting their likenesses into his games. For example, Death Stranding characters Deadman, Sam Bridges, and Cliff were based on full-body scans of Guillermo del Toro, Norman Reedus, and Mads Mikkelsen, respectively. Some of Kojima Productions' upcoming games will continue using high-profile actors and their likenesses, including Death Stranding 2 and OD.

PlayStation 2 is a console that everyone loved and many still do today since while the games are older, it has some of the best games on it from Sony. The console was first released back in Japan on March 4, 2000. Then it was soon released in America on October 26, 2000. This console was the sequel to the PlayStation console which was the very first one.

Developer Stunlock Studios has announced a new milestone for its vampire-themed survival crafting title V Rising. Leading up to the game’s exit from early access on May 8, V Rising has sold 4 million copies since its early access release.

Sony could reveal the existence of Ghost of Tsushima 2 at a State of Play or PlayStation Showcase event soon, according to recent rumors. While the sequel of Ghost of Tsushima is still unconfirmed, some rumors indicate that it may be in the pipeline.

Sony president Hiroki Totoki will today step into his new role as PlayStation CEO following Jim Ryan's retirement after a more than 30-year tenure at the company. While retaining his duties across the wider business, Totoki's main objective will be to aid the search for a true successor to Jim Ryan while defining «the next chapter of PlayStation's future».

According to developer and publisher Capcom, the recent open-world role-playing game (RPG) Dragon’s Dogma 2 has managed to surpass 2.5 million units sold worldwide since its March 22 launch.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s post-launch addition of microtransactions vexed a fair few people, but in spite of backlash from the community, the open world action RPG has got off to an impressive start. In addition to widespread acclaim, it has also seen sales in impressive numbers right out the gate.
