Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 key art puts Zero front and center for next update

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the middle chapter of the ambitious Final Fantasy VII Remake project, arrives in just a few short months, and Square Enix has provided more info about the game’s world. We know FF7 Rebirth will feature a much larger, more open world than FF7 Remake and Square Enix has detailed some of the regions you’ll be exploring, including the Grasslands, Junon, and the Gold Saucer.

The next big Final Fantasy XIV update launches in just two weeks. At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix revealed FFXIV Patch 6.5 goes live on October 3, 2023.

The next major update for the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV arrives next month, and Square Enix has revealed what we can look forward to. Update 6.5, entitled “Growing Light” will deliver the usual things you’d expect, including a new main story chapter, dungeon, and Unreal Trial, as well as… Fall Guys crossover content? Final Fantasy content has already come to Fall Guys, so I suppose it makes sense that the crossover is going the other way as well. “Growing Light”, Final Fantasy XIV ’s next big update, is right around the corner. Releasing on October 3rd, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida previewed the patch in a special Letter from the Producer broadcast from Tokyo Game Show.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received new gameplay and details thanks to various hands-on impressions over the past few days. However, the development team hosted a stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2023 to show off even more, from The Grasslands and its mini-games to more combat. Fans have been pleading for years, hoping that Square Enix would provide a remake of the beloved Final Fantasy VII video game. This title launched back on the original PlayStation. Of course, we now know this remake was finally put into production, but it won’t be a complete experience with just one game. In fact, the first part of the remake has already been published, and you can enjoy it right now. However, if you’ve already played the first game in the remake collection for Final Fantasy VII, your eyes might be set on that next installment, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Although a decade old, Final Fantasy XIV remains one of the best live-service games/MMORPGs to jump into. Its sprawling narrative and fascinating world were big draws to players like me, and now fans will can experience the world again from a new perspective.

Wccftech recently visited the Square-Enix headquarters in Los Angeles, CA to go hands-on with the first public demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Those that are lucky enough to attend Tokyo Game Show will also be able to experience the same two-chapter demo that we had the privilege of running through. Both demos ran natively on PlayStation 5 debug hardware and while the option to play in Performance Mode was available, our hands-on was exclusively with the Graphical fidelity mode. Much like part one of the Final Fantasy VII remakes, the Graphics/Performance mode will target 4K resolution and 60 FPS, respectively.

Final Fantasy XIV is due to have a finger-lickin’ good crossover with KFC soon. The acclaimed MMORPG is no stranger to unexpected crossovers, but these are often with other games and not fast food brands.
