Final Fantasy XIV's Packed 'Growing Light' Update Gets New Trailer, Naoki Yoshida Teases 6.51 and 6.55

Patch 6.5 is on the way to Final Fantasy XIV. This significant patch is called Growing Light and introduces one of the larger pushes of content as we draw closer to the impending expansion, Dawntrail, set to release sometime in the summer of 2024.

In a live Letter from the Producer during the recent Tokyo Game Show, Director Naoki Yoshida has unveiled details for what to expect in Patch 6.5. A brand new trailer offers players a look at upcoming adventures that set the tone for the latest story content. Growing Light sets the stage for Dawntrail and will not only introduce new scenario quests, but also brings a plethora of new content to enjoy. Along with the new main scenario, a new dungeon awaits in the Lunar Subterrane.

The next big Final Fantasy XIV update launches in just two weeks. At this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix revealed FFXIV Patch 6.5 goes live on October 3, 2023.
