There are multiple resources and materials for you to find while playing Final Fantasy XIV. These are scattered through the many activities and zones you can explore. However, your character will need to be well-versed in participating in these activities for them to reach the endgame content, such as tracking down the material Deep-Sea Umbrite.
There are a few locations where you can find Deep-Sea Umbrite. A majority of the methods where you can find it come down to doing it yourself, or you enlist another person’s help to do it, but it will cost you. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Deep-Sea Umbrite in Final Fantasy XIV.
Like many of the other Deep-Sea resources that you find in Final Fantasy XIV, the only way to track down Deep-Sea Umbrite is to loot it from Submarine Voyages. The Submarine Voyages are available by unlocking the submersible schematic from the Company Workshop. However, you will need to have a Free Company that owns a home in Final Fantasy XIV to craft at the Company Workshop, which can be a hefty requirement for many players. Thankfully, the house can be any size.
After you have one constructed, it’s time to plot a course to some of the more dangerous routes you can take with your submarine in Final Fantasy XIV. These will need to be the ones that became available for Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 6.5 update, giving you a limited series of areas to check out. These new routes might take you a good amount of time to explore, but these are ones beyond The Lilac Sea, which was introduced in Patch 6.4
There is an alternative to seeking this item out yourself. The other option for you is to take a more direct approach in Final Fantasy XIV, and that’s to make it to your nearby Market Board to see if you can find them for sale by other players. Unfortunately, these will be largely overpriced when they are released after the arrival of Patch 6.5, and I recommend looking for it yourself before you try making your way to a Market Board, where it’s always going to be much more expensive for any player.

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV will feature a Final Fantasy XVI crossover in the run-up to the Dawntrail expansion. This event will bring familiar monsters and loot from FF16 into FFXIV, including a fight with Ifrit and mounts based on Torgal.
Final Fantasy XIV’s achievements are no joke, as proved by the 10 years it took the first player to earn every achievement in the MMO. But director and producer Naoki Yoshida is up for making even more difficult achievements, if the achievement-hunting pro is game for the challenge.

So, if you haven’t heard, some big things are going down in Final Fantasy XIV. Not only is a new expansion coming that will help start a new story and give players even more things to do, but a new collaboration will make Square Enix fans happy. Specifically, a collaboration with the most recent entry from the beloved RPG series will happen as Clive Rosfield arrives in the game and joins the Warriors of Light! Even more specifically, there’s a questline that is called “The Path Infernal,” and it’s there that you can meet Clive and battle monsters that appear to be like Eikons. You can watch the reveal trailer for that below.
The director of Final Fantasy XIV has said he’d love to channel the chaos and freedom of nineties MMO godparent Ultima Online into his own game - but it couldn’t be FF14 itself, as the unbridled chaos would ‘break’ its players.
Not even three months ago Square Enix Game Director Naoki Yoshida took the stage at the US Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival and revealed the upcoming Dawntrail expansion. Earlier today, Day 1 of the London Fan Festival kicked off and Yoshida returned to reveal more details about the expansion.
Square Enix announced the “Viper” job, a Final Fantasy XI crossover alliance raid, and more for the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion at Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 in London. A Final Fantasy XVI crossover for the 6.x series was also announced, and an open beta test for the Xbox Series version of Final Fantasy XIV is planned for mid-January to February 2024.
The London Final Fantasy Fan Fest has kicked off this morning with an impressive keynote speech that has finally unveiled one of the two jobs expected for the upcoming Dawntrail expansion. A few months ago during the Las Vegas Fan Fest, players around the world were teased a bit of information that there would be two new jobs added with the inclusion of the new expansion. At the time, speculations were all over the place as players came up with various theories — it didn’t help that FFXIV director Naoki Yoshida wore a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt at the time of said announcement which then prompted players to try and line up the letters like some kind of nerdy anagram. From Corsairs to Time Mages, all kinds of speculation arose. Carefully observant Warriors of Light may have noticed a tease of the potential melee job when watching the Dawntrail trailer, but it wasn’t enough detail to solidify good guesses.
Even after completing its 10th anniversary, is bound to continue expanding. The critically acclaimed MMORPG has hundreds of hours of content and seems to be pushing for even more, as the next expansion,, is set to arrive in Summer 2024. Additionally, the game will also receive a whole new pool of players, as it will finally become compatible with Xbox consoles through the Series X/S family. With a new chunk of content planned and a new player base inbound, is expected to be as busy as ever, even if its main 10-year saga of Light and Darkness has come to an end.
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 launched with the final tier of its Myths of the Realm Alliance Raid earlier this month, and it’s still packing secrets to discover. The new 24-man raid apparently has a little easter egg for players familiar with the MMO’s fishing lore, and it involves shooting your shot with one of the realm’s 12 gods, Llymlaen.
You may have heard of the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14’s free trial that includes a full award-winning expansion. Now try it with two expansions.
