Final Fantasy XIV is due to have a finger-lickin’ good crossover with KFC soon. The acclaimed MMORPG is no stranger to unexpected crossovers, but these are often with other games and not fast food brands.
KFC Japan announced the collaboration on X (Twitter) with a surprisingly ominous teaser. The 15-seconds show Colonel Sanders solemnly looking over the Eorzean sea before casting Triplecast, a spell exclusive to Black Mages starting at level 66. Assuming the Colonel is at this level, he’d likely be in the middle of Stormblood, galavating across the Doman continent.

There isn’t a lot to see from the teaser, but the glitched text stating “Coming Soon” reads like a warning. I never thought I’d ask myself if Colonel Sanders would become an enemy in Final Fantasy XIV, but it almost sounds plausible now.
Details on the collaboration are sparse, and if this tweet was it, I’d think it was a joke. This probably isn’t the case because KFC Japan has another tweet teasing a Final Fantasy collaboration for October 4. Final Fantasy isn’t explicitly named, but silhouettes of the Chocobo Alpha and a moogle are dead giveaways.
A crossover like this isn’t surprising given Final Fantasy‘s previous collaborations with food brands. I’ll never forget the Cup Noodles content in FFXV and Noctis wearing a Cup Noodles hat.
That comparison might not be the best regarding what to expect since they differ greatly. Whatever it turns out to be, it’ll be a treat to the overlap of fans who enjoy KFC and FFXIV.

We’re months away from Final Fantasy XIV’s next major expansion, Dawntrail. Still, players are trying to learn any amount of details they can about the upcoming, competitive treasure hunt where they’ll be facing off with former allies who have been by their side for years. Customary to every Final Fantasy XIV expansion, there are new Jobs for players who grab it, and some players believe they’ve figured out one of the two new ones coming to the game.
After 10 years, one Final Fantasy 14 player has finally earned all 2751 achievements.
In an accomplishment that truly makes my head and mouse-clicking finger hurt thinking about the sheer time and effort required, someone has become the first Final Fantasy 14 player to complete every single one of the MMO’s more than 2,700 achievements.
Someone has finally completed every single Final Fantasy14 achievement, 10 years after the game launched.
A Final Fantasy 14 player has become the first in the massively multiplayer role-playing game’s 10-year history to complete every currently obtainable achievement.
A Final Fantasy 14 player has become the first to unlock all 2,751 Achievements, more than a decade after the game launched.
Final Fantasy 14 has accumulated an awful lot of achievements in its decade of life: 2,751 of them to be exact. Some of them are simple enough—just play through the story, level up some classes, do an event or two—while others require hundreds of hours or even years to earn. Earning all of them would take some serious time and dedication, which would explain why nobody has ever managed to reach 100% achievement completion. Until now, that is.
Sigh. Guess it's time to open up my wallet and pray to the RNG gods because mobile gacha game Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is making its way over to Steam.
It’s taken just over 10 years, but a truly committed Final Fantasy 14 Lalafell has unlocked every achievement the MMO has to offer – that is, until Square Enix adds more.
Final Fantasy 14 is getting a kappa suit at the behest of series father Hironobu Sakaguchi, and while he's thrilled about the addition to one of the best MMORPGs around, he's still taken to Photoshop to make it just a little bit cuter.
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, which was released exclusively for mobile devices earlier this month, is officially in development for PC, Square Enix has confirmed.
