Yellow Brick Games, a studio consisting of quite a few industry veterans, including Dragon Age creator Mike Laidlaw, has unveiled its first game: Eternal Strands. The game, developed in Unreal Engine 5, is being made by a team of 68. Check out the reveal trailer below, courtesy of IGN.
Going by the description of the Eternal Strands trailer, the fantasy action-adventure title draws inspiration from games like Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter, as well as the physics manipulation of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Eternal Strands puts players in the shoes of young fearless Weaver Brynn. As players experience her quest to recover her people’s cultural home, they will get to fight epic enemies that can be as much as 25 meters in height, known as the Arks. Players can make use of the environment, extreme weather events, as well as their own arsenal of weapons and magical abilities to take down these Arks.
In the vein of Monster Hunter, Eternal Strands players will also be able to upgrade their equipment by using materials gathered from slain enemies. This, coupled with the physics system that also allows players to make use of aspects of the environment like heat and cold, will combine to form more dynamic fights in Eternal Strands.
Eternal Strands is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.

The prodigal Prince has returned, and his comeback has gone down so well that he is doing it a second time. After his Metroidvania adventures in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, which came out in January, gaming's iconic dual-blade wielding royalty is coming back for seconds in The Rogue Prince of Persia, a new 2D action-platforming rogue-lite title, arriving in Early Access on Steam on May 14. Developed by Dead Cells maker Evil Empire and published by Ubisoft, the next Prince of Persia game flaunts a colourful, cartoony art style and features platforming and action combat familiar to the series.

In Eternal Strands, a major part of your adventure will be doing battle with the nine massive bosses that wander freely throughout parts of the world. In my time exploring the magical land of The Enclave, I encountered a handful of these formidable monstrosities, which ranged from a robotic bipedal summoner who used his magical staff to cover the world in fire to a flying dragon who persistently hunted me from the skies above. Continuing our month-long coverage of Eternal Strands as part of IGN First, today we’ll be taking a look at one such oversized baddie: The Ark of the Forge, a hammer-wielding automaton with deep love of smelting puny Weavers into piles of ash.
