Although a Senior Cinematic Animator at EA, Kevin Scott, added to his LinkedIn page with the inclusion of “(2024 release)," the game does not yet have an official release date. Scott's update to his LinkedIn page () has stoked the fires of fan excitement; however, the current state of the game's developer, BioWare, may indicate that fans of the franchise should not get their hopes up for a 2024 release of this long-awaited sequel.

We've just given Baldur's Gate 3 one of the highest review scores ever awarded in PC Gamer's 30 year history, putting it in the company of just a handful of other games, including Half-Life 2 and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. It's an extraordinary RPG and already an all-time favorite for many on the team (though I doubt any of us except Fraser, who wrote our Baldur's Gate 3 review, have finished it yet).
