Dragon's Dogma 2 director apologizes for the long wait for the JRPG, says its best ideas were inspired by lack of sleep

We’re continuing this month’s IGN First on Dragon’s Dogma 2 with a detailed look at its new, robust character creator. The original Dragon’s Dogma had a pretty intense character creator, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 has upped the ante for just how detailed you can get for your character and ideal Pawn.

Although news regarding the upcoming DLC,, has been scarce, a behind-the-scenes addition to the game could indicate that it'll be releasing sooner rather than later in 2024. Similar to the pre-launch cycle for the game itself, the advertising for has been practically nonexistent outside its announcement, which has driven a fair amount of speculation that more concrete trailers for the DLC would appear at various gaming events near the end of 2023.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is promising to be an absolutely massive experience, and while it doesn’t look like there will be any shortage of excellent content even if you decide to stick to its main story, Capcom is still tucking away a bevy of optional content for players to find and engage with. The developer has unveiled another slice of that – courtesy of a new video by IGN – in the form of Sphinx, a completely optional and mysterious enemy that will test players in entirely unique ways.

The original Dragon’s Dogma was a massive open world experience, and with Capcom promising that its upcoming sequel is going to be even bigger, expectations are certainly high in terms of how much content the game will have on offer, and what sort of quality we can expect from its side content.

A new leak bodes bad news for the release date of one long-awaited playable character. The popular live-service RPG by HoYoverse has been suffering leaks for years now, most of which detail the contents of the upcoming patches. In the next update, for instance, one of the most awaited playable characters, Xianyun (Cloud Retainer), was leaked before her release was later confirmed by the developer. There have also been 4.4 skin leaks for three characters, two of which are expected to be premium items added to the in-game shop.
