The development team behind Diablo Immortal has taken a strong stance against any and all exploitation of the game's economy in a newly released statement. The Diablo Immortal team makes it very clear that they're cracking down on cheaters and hackers who exploit the game's in-game currency, warning players against engaging in prohibited activities.
Diablo Immortal was released back in June 2022 and is a game that is often criticized for its monetization. The game is unique within Blizzard's Diablo franchise, being developed primarily with smartphones in mind. The Diablo formula of gameplay translates surprisingly well to touch-screen devices, but smartphone games are notorious for their in-app purchases, and Diablo Immortal is no different. However, certain players have opted to cheat and hack their way around Diablo Immortal's monetization, resulting in the development team warning players against doing so.
A new statement from the Diablo Immortal team clearly lays out rules and regulations that players must abide by in order to maintain their account. One of the prohibited activities is using third-party software, something Blizzard has already warned against for Diablo 4. Players caught engaging in these behaviors will face serious punishment, with the development team stating that it has already taken action against offenders, issuing either temporary or permanent bans to their accounts.
Microtransactions have been a problem for Diablo Immortal from the start, and it's unlikely that will change any time soon. The development team reiterates that players caught cheating will face serious consequences, as stated in Blizzard's End User License Agreement. In order to ensure players understand what not to do, Blizzard has laid out a list of activities that are strictly prohibited for Diablo Immortal players.
«We want the Diablo Immortal community to trust in our commitment to the game's integrity,» the team states. «Our ongoing mission is to protect your time, and your well-earned progress. In addition to the actions today, we will continue to enforce these rules as we constantly evolve our detection processes to find and target clear violations.» Regardless of microtransactions, Blizzard managed to craft a popular mobile game with Diablo Immortal, quickly reaching 10 million installs shortly after release. The development team has continued to support Diablo Immortal, with one developer teasing the future addition of a Blood Knight class in Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal marks Blizzards first foray into the mobile space for their long-running dungeon-crawling ARPG. The title is a free-to-play MMORPG with similar mechanics, upgrades, and skills as the rest of the titles in the series.

Blizzard has released a new lore video highlighting the origin stories of the three Prime Evils — Diablo, Lord of Terror, Baal, Lord of Destruction, and Mephisto, Lord of Hatred — in what appears to be a new YouTube series, Horadric History. The video outlines the history behind the birth of the seven great evils, how the Prime Evils came into existence, and the impact that each one has had on Sanctuary — and leaves viewers with a stark reminder that Mephisto is still out there. What exactly the Lord of Hatred has planned for Sanctuary remains to be seen, but one thing is clear — players haven't seen the last of Mephisto. Vessel of Hatred Overview for Diablo 4
The PTR for Diablo 4 Patch 1.4.0 is well underway, and players have been delving into the variety of content to be tested. While the new systems and content have proven to be a nice change of pace for many, some players feel that the rewards from some content leave more to be desired. One such case appears to be the new Tormented Echoes Bosses, which are supercharged level 200 versions of the ladder bosses such as Duriel, Varshan, and the new boss, Andariel. These Super Bosses drop a number of Legendary and Unique items, Summoning Materials for other bosses, and one very important reward — one Resplendent Spark for killing your first Tormented Boss. A number of players have taken issue with the rewards offered by this difficult challenge, and several have taken to social media sites and the PTR forums to address their concerns. Reddit user Oceanfather created a post on the Diablo 4 Subreddit about this topic, mentioning the much steeper material requirement to summon the empowered bosses such as Tormented Grigiore. The problem is, when a boss is slain, they drop the same amount of Shard of Agony as their normal counterpart. This creates a situation where if you wish to get materials to summon Duriel or Andariel, it is currently more economical to repeatedly farm the normal, less challenging, and less rewarding version of these bosses. Blizzard has since responded to the post, stating that there will be some degree of changes coming to the rewards of Tormented Echo Bosses.

Blizzard is looking at feedback regarding high Veiled Crystal costs associated with the new Codex of Power in the Diablo 4 PTR, and could be reducing costs in the future. While many materials have received changes in the PTR, in some cases completely overhauling their systems, Veiled Crystal have become a pain point — what was once an incredibly common material has now become much rarer, and high costs are eating through lowered supplies. Blizzard has not committed to a firm change yet, however they've noted that the feedback regarding these Crystals is common.
