Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Will Automatically Disable Mods

I adore the user interface of Cyberpunk 2077. Developer CD Projekt Red manages to blend effective communication of player information like health, ammunition, and cyberware opportunities with an immersive and sleek style that’s Night City’s own. The same goes for most weapons; looking down scopes can tell you distances and ammo counts, and often plays with your perception to involve you in the world around you. The problem is, this can sometimes be way too distracting to take in during a hectic firefight, so one modder has solved the problem.

It took some time, but CD Projekt Red's troubled RPG finally has as much substance as it has style, in no small thanks to the recent Phantom Liberty DLC and patch 2.0.

In Cyberpunk 2077, there are few problems that can’t be solved with either a bullet, a blade, or a colorfully worded variation of “F you.” In Phantom Liberty, the first and only expansion for the game, developer CD Projekt Red throws a curveball at the player in the form of an optional final mission that channels inspiration from one of the greatest survival-horror games of the eighth console generation.

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 won’t have to wait long before returning to the dystopian streets of Night City. Developer CD Projekt Red announced on Thursday that they are working on a live-action TV series set in the universe of Mike Pondsmith’s dark futuristic tabletop RPG.

And the main game has climbed to 25 million copies sold.

's DLC is full of choices that V must make — and these decisions can ultimately affect which ending players get. In fact, some options can even lock players out of s true new ending, and one of these factors includes deciding to kill Solomon Reed or agreeing to his deal. This occurs extremely late in the game, but it will have a major impact on the ending, so knowing which choice is correct is important.

CD Projekt Red really wants Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty players to know that its RPG is back and better than ever - and it's used Idris Elba to get the message across. 

Early in the DLC's main story for, V is faced with a difficult choice without a lot of time to make a well-thought-out decision. As is often the case with much of the game, there are many decisions that have to be handled which can affect other things down the line, and particularly when trying to roleplay it can be hard to know what the right choice is. Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.

's free 2.0 update launched on September 21, 2023, with a huge number of changes to the title's core gameplay. The update incorporated overhauled police AI, as well as vehicle combat and car chases, and overhauled the game's skill trees while introducing a revamped Cyberware system.

With the one-two punch of Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 has received some major updates in recent days, and though CD Projekt RED has stressed a few times that they were the final big updates for the game, the developer does still have some smaller patches it wants to push out to iron out some of the action RPG’s remaining issues.

More Cyberpunk 2077 patch notes are on their way, developer CD Projekt Red announces. Following the arrival of the massive Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 patch overhauling many of the game’s systems, and the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.01 is set to rectify some of the more common and troublesome issues found in the update.
