's DLC,, is an essential add-on for any fan of the base game. While the unpredictable spy-thriller story is among the best to be developed by CD Projekt RED, Phantom Liberty pays homage to a number of CD Projekt RED's previous games and most popular franchises — none more so than their critically and commercially revered series based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy series of book, series. One particularly well-hidden reference, made in, to a notable character from franchise will undeniably be very bittersweet for long-time fans.

The Iconic Cut-O-Matic XMOD2 Chainsword is one of the best weapons introduced in, and players can find it for free while exploring Dogtown. This unique variant of the Cut-O-Matic Chainsword is particularly brutal in close-range melee combat, and has extra mod slots that allow V to give it a more personal touch.

Even after several years of updates and an excellent expansion, Cyberpunk 2077 still isn't bug-free. I said as much in my Phantom Liberty review. The difference now versus launch back in 2020 is that the bugs are now within acceptable limits.

's DLCgreatly expands on the base game's original map, including a variety of new hidden locations. adds a whole section to 's map: the lawless district of Dogtown. Once a planned, private resort getaway for Night City's well-to-do luminaries, Dogtown soon fell under the control of Kurt Hansen and his iron-fisted Barghest paramilitary gang. By the time V arrives, high rises and luxury shops are in total disarray, and anyone who isn't part of Barghest's rank and file is forced to live in fear. Their hidden stashes and abandoned apartments make up some of the DLC's most fascinating areas.

Like many of CD Projekt RED's games, 's DLC contains a great number of excellently concealed Easter eggs, hidden details, and subtle pop-culture references. Although some of 's secrets are easily discovered, others are incredibly hard to uncover — this, however, is part of the fun. While simple awareness of a reference is rewarding, having to spend a great deal of time and effort in locating an Easter egg amplifies the reward.

The one and only DLC is here for , and it brings with it a lot of new content to the game with an additional zone, narratives, NPCs, and delightful ways to kill enemies with flashy new weapons. The spy-thriller narrative of means that V will need a tough new arsenal to keep up with the backstabbing going on around them. Among the included weapons are many unique Iconics for V to either find or purchase in the Dogtown district.

Adding to the expansive arsenal available in the base game of , adds a number of new Iconic weapons to the game. While many can be found by simply playing through the DLC's story missions, the locations of others can be especially hard to pinpoint. Some weapons, for example, may only be made available through certain quests or decisions, while others might be hidden in subtle ways or placed in obscure locations. And, as Iconic weapons tend to have effects that can't be replicated by any other piece of gear, missing them may deprive a playthrough of unique gameplay.

The side quest "" forces players to decide the fate of a former SovOil agent named Katya. The quest begins with Ana and Steven, two members of a Brazilian intelligence agency, hiring V to find their missing friend and former collaborator, one Mark Bana. Bana wore a biomonitor at the time of his disappearance, which is still giving off signals to suggest he might be alive. However, the agents warn that it might not actually be Bana behind the signals. V tracks Bana through Organitopia, a natural history museum taken over by technological scavengers, and at the end of it all, finds Katya.

Cyberpunk 2077 made a lot of popular changes with its version 2.0 update, but one of them appears to have had an unintended side effect. Due to changes in how clothing and armour work, a reward for completing a questline on a much harder, non-lethal path has been nerfed, making it purely aesthetic as opposed to giving you its intended in-game advantage.

Despite the new DLC including a phenomenal storyline and lots of new content for , it sadly did not include any romance options among its newly introduced NPCs. The spy-thriller DLC has many hours worth of exciting missions to do, new weapons and perks to play around with, and lots of new characters with engaging backstories in both the main DLC campaign and the many side gigs. 's Dogtown District is home to some colorful characters, and the major people that V interacts with for the story have a depth to their personalities that would be fun to be able to explore even more.

A new Cyberpunk 2077 finisher mod has been released for update 2.0, which enables NPC ragdoll behavior and collisions.
