Cyberpunk 2077 Graphic Highlights Update 2.0 & Phantom Liberty Differences

It has been a rollercoaster ride for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's latest open-world action RPG so far. At launch, the game was plagued with so many bugs, glitches, and performance issues that it was almost unplayable, especially on old-generation consoles such as PS4, and Xbox One. While it performed a bit better on newer consoles, the PC was the only platform where players could fully enjoy Night City and its adventures. However, all that is in the past as the developers at CD Projekt Red have been determined to bring it to the level they initially envisioned, with numerous updates that not only fix bugs but also bring new content.

Cyberpunk 2077 is about to get its biggest update yet, and CD Projekt Red has revealed when the huge 2.0 update goes live later today. 

The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion releases next week, but before that, we have Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update, a free rework that adds vehicle combat, smarter cops and new skill trees and perks, including the ability to play a sort of Wild Magic hacker and a skillset I can only describe as Big Hammer Go Brrrrrr. CD Projekt tech support have shared region-specific download availability for the update, together with some advice for new and returning Cyberpunk 2077 players taking the plunge. Let's have a look.

Cyberpunk 2077 and I have a troubled history. From its disappointing launch state on console and PC back during its earliest days, I’ve had a hard time really getting into the sprawling RPG, as bugs, glitches and overall performance issues held everything back.

There is quite a bit of excitement over Cyberpunk 2077 again. The video game that had the player’s attention around the world leading up to its launch is soon getting a resurgence. While that initial launch for the base game was anything but perfect, the developers are getting ready for another notable release. I’m sure there is quite a bit of tension as the development team prepares players for Phantom Liberty in hopes they don’t see another release reception like the base game. However, if you plan to play through the new expansion, starting from a fresh new save is best. That’s according to CD Projekt Red, who mentioned that the 2.0 update will make many changes. Some of these changes are best enjoyed from a brand-new game file.

V can certainly attain legend status during the events of , but it looks like the DLC will make it possible for players to become edgerunners in the literal sense of the word. A small detail hidden in new gameplay footage has revealed an exciting connection between in-game Night City and that of the hit anime based in the same dystopian, futuristic world — and it may be able to bring fans closer to their favorite characters than ever before.

CD Projekt Red now has a history of delivering great CG trailers, and this latest one for upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty is right up there with some of the best. It actually gives us a bit of background on Solomon Reed — played by English actor Idris Elba — who's a key character in the DLC. A government agent who's finally about to get out of Night City, he's betrayed at the last minute by a woman named So Mi and seemingly killed.

's long-awaited DLC, is finally nearing its release. The expansion will launch exclusively on current-gen devices such as Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, as well as PC, unlike the original which attempted to launch on last-gen consoles with disastrous results. It will also be coupled with a massive 2.0 update, making CD Projekt Red's first and last DLC for its 2020 ARPG a huge overhaul for the title, bringing it more in line with the experience many expected from at launch.

If you’re a fan of Cyberpunk 2077, you know that the game launch was pretty rough. It took the developers quite a long time, too, in order to get the game turned around. In the latest Night City Wire, CD Projekt RED debuted a new CGI trailer forCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It takes place seven years prior to the expansion’s events, with Solomon Reed (played by Idris Elba), an NUSA agent departing Night City. Unfortunately, he faces betrayal and is left for dead at the hands of his apprentice Song So Mi, aka Songbird, for reasons unknown.

Phantom Liberty, the first and only major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, is nearly here. The highly anticipated DLC, which adds new quests, stories, locations, characters, and abilities, will be accompanied by a major update to the base game that adds all-new, highly requested gameplay systems.
