Cities: Skylines 2's Steam reviews have fallen into the "mostly negative" category as players grow increasingly frustrated with the state of the game. The issue has only been made worse with the release of a new DLC back, Beach Properties, which players say is not worth the money and doesn't contain much new content at all.
The base game's overall reviews are "mixed", but recent reviews are mostly negative. Even longtime fans of the series say that the current state of Cities: Skylines 2 is unacceptable, complaining that its city simulation features don't work as intended, making it a "mess" to play.
"I desperately wanted to love this game. loved the first and had a lot of hype for this one," reads a negative Steam review. "It just isn't a good game at the minute [...] do not buy, not even on sale. Just wait until they fix it."
Some are even harsher: "This game is complete trash. And now they are charging for paid DLC before fixing the fundamental problems of the game? Enough said."
This feeling that paid DLC is being used to fix the game is shared by other players. Unsurprisingly, this means that the latest DLC pack, Beach Properties, is already flooded with negative reviews, despite only launching yesterday. At the time of writing, it has 450 negative ratings and just 27 positive scores.
The original Cities: Skylines, which launched in 2015, still has very positive reviews on Steam.
Cities: Skylines 2 launched last October and was immediately criticised for lacking features from the first game. It did, however, receive average reviews from critics, with many praising what is there, even if there were some glaring omissions in the game's offerings. In our review, Senior Specialist Writer Harry Alston gave Cities: Skylines 2 a four out of five, praising the building mechanics, and improved visuals, and saying that the game felt more alive than ever. He did note that there were performance issues though, as well as the aforementioned missing content that fans are still waiting for.
At the very least, Cities: Skylines 2 now has official mod support, having been added to the game yesterday. You'll find a tab for mods in the main menu, making it easier for those unfamiliar with modding their games to download some fanmade creations. This is only in the beta stage right now though, so the mods available will be limited. If you want more variety, fans have been making mods for the game since its launch (via a fan site), you'll just have to install them yourself.

One of the hallmarks of modern Fallout games is getting to listen to a radio while you trek around the Wasteland. The radio is, of course, full of sweet tunes to enjoy, but the radio hosts often take the mic in order to share some fun world-building facts and keep the player company on the road. Many of these songs show up in the Amazon Prime Fallout series — but which radio station is the best listen?
One of the original creators of Fallout, Tim Cain, has shared his thoughts on Amazon's recently released adaptation of the franchise, and they're very positive. WithPrime Video's live action Fallout adaptation receiving a stamp of approval from one of the masterminds behind the video game series itself, it seems like it's safe to say the TV show has lived up to the hype.
Fallout fans are scratching their heads over a plot point mentioned in the new hit TV show's sixth episode — which some say contradicts the game series' established lore.

Amazon has subscribed Prime members with free access to some of the most critically acclaimed and universally beloved Fallout games ever made, including Fallout: New Vegas. However, the offer comes with a catch in that it's tied to the company's cloud gaming service, meaning only Fallout fans from a select few countries will get to take advantage of it.
A free update has been announced for that's going to make it better than ever. The last main single-player entry in the franchise, was released to critical acclaim back in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while it's available via backward compatibility on the current generation of consoles, many have hoped it would get an upgrade that optimized the newer hardware like many other titles from the last console generation.
Revealed at the Triple-I Initiative just now, Vampire Survivors is getting another cool DLC, this one a crossover with classic Konami run 'n' gun Contra. It's called Operation Guns. Get on board. Trailed with, as is now traditional, a cool animated trailer that suggests the game is a Saturday morning cartoon and not a top down pixelated nightmare that will flush out any latent photosensitivity lurking in your skull (complimentary), Operation Guns is arriving on May 9th, so about a month away.
New details about the upcoming Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake have reportedly surfaced.
Dicefolk, a highly rated creature collector roguelike, is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch, where it's looking to find a new audience after quickly racking up great reviews on Steam. Games that market themselves as new approaches to the Pokemon formula are starting to sprout up more and more as they seemingly try to replicate the success of Palworld from earlier this year.
It’s been nearly a couple of years since Ubisoft announced that its Montreal studio had taken over development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake from its Pune and Mumbai studios. At the time, it was said that Ubisoft Montreal would be building on the work that had already been done on the remake, but it now seems that the project has undergone a complete overhaul.
The Fallout TV show will start streaming even earlier that previously announced. The new stream date and time for the eight episode first season of Fallout is April 10th at 6PM PDT – that’s 11th April at 2AM BST in the UK.
