New details about the upcoming Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake have reportedly surfaced.
These details are part of an exclusive report from Tom Henderson via Insider-Gaming, who writes to have gathered information from "several" sources. Although asked about it, publisher Ubisoft has declined to comment on these new details saying that they don't "comment on rumours and speculation".

According to the report, fans should forget everything they have heard or seen from the reveal trailer from years ago as the remake is being built completely from scratch. This means that the remake has been rewritten, recaptured in mocap, and more. Although stated otherwise earlier, previous work from Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune isn't being used for the rebooted remake. Also, the remake's overhaul is said to offer a more "realistic approach", compared to what was shown in the announcement trailer. Aside from a complete graphical overhaul, animations, combat mechanics and parkour have also been overhauled for the rebooted Sands of Time Remake. Another interesting detail is that Yuri Lowenthal - the actor portraying the prince in the original trilogy and the initial remake - won't be reprising his role in the remake.
As mentioned by Henderson, going by the footage that was sent to him, the game is still in a somewhat early stage of development. As such, the remake won't be out anything soon.
Ubisoft's remake was officially announced back in 2020, but reports suggested that development of the game was rather troublesome. Late last year, Ubisoft announced that the game had passed an "important milestone". Earlier this year, a trophy list for the game appeared on the PlayStation Network, which had many to believe that a release wouldn't be too far out. It will be interesting to see how development on the game will evolve, and whether Insider-Gaming's report is accurate.
