CD Projekt Red Musters Veteran Developers for Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel | Push Square

Cyberpunk 2077 has rolled out its latest update, Patch 2.12, with a focus on fixing issues like key binding and improving overall performance. Several issues were reported by players following Cyberpunk 2077's previous patch. The new update targets various platforms, including PC and Xbox.

A CD Projekt Red developer has revealed that even his landlord gave him a tough time following the troubled release of Cyberpunk 2077. The RPG's late 2020 launch is still considered to be one of the worst in video game history, but improvements over time have turned the title into a fan favorite.

BulletFarm, a new «remote-first» studio based in Los Angeles, has been formed by Call of Duty veteran David Vonderhaar, who has appointed former CoD developer Chris Cowell as its creative director. The studio is already hard at work on its first project, which Vonderhaar offered some details about. Fans likely recognize Vonderhaar's name, who directed the multiplayer modes for many of Treyarch's Call of Duty titles.

Bravely Default 2 celebrates its third anniversary this year, with series producer Tomoya Asano thanking fans in a new tweet. In addition, he teased “developments in the Bravely series this year.”

The sequel to seems to have already learned an important lesson from its predecessor and, with it, is hoping to avoid the first game’s biggest and worst mistake. The release of CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG was a reputation scandal, despite the large sales figures. At launch, the product was plagued by bugs and other technical problems, mostly on the past-gen consoles. Aside from the technical issues that affected customers, the game was wrapped in problems with development, such as the crunch imposed on employees to deliver the title on time – when it was clearly not ready.

CD Projekt Red has made quite a name for themselves. They are known for delivering thrilling RPGs; over the years, the studio has managed to thrive. That ultimately means adding more resources, which results in multiple game projects being in the works. We already know a few of these projects that the studio is attached to. But one game project that some fans anticipate is still being kept under wraps.

Embracer Group, the holdings company that spent years scooping up as many gaming properties and development teams as possible, has had to reduce its unsustainable size, cutting jobs, closing studios, and shelving projects. Last summer, the company announced its restructuring plan, and has now confirmed the figures pertaining to layoffs and more, and it's not pretty.

Microsoft only announced four first-party titles for PS5 today, and it’s refusing to name which ones, although the likelihood is that Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment will all get ported. However, its stance is wishy-washy when it comes to other releases, with Spencer claiming he doesn’t believe “we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform”.

For the last week, eager fans have been able to play a demo for the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5. While the appetite for the RPG remains high, some players have been left a little deflated by the demo's somewhat rough visuals and technical performance. Fortunately, it looks like Square Enix will be aiming to fix that very soon.

No Man's Sky has received yet another huge update today, 15th February 2024, and it's good news for basically everyone. The Omega update is primarily concerned with Expeditions, the game's community-focused mini campaigns that blend together all its various features. A whole new Expedition, also titled Omega, is star of the show, and best of all, it'll be completely free to play — whether you own No Man's Sky or not.
