Cataclysm Classic Datamining Has Begun

During our datamining of Phase 3 Season of Discovery, we've discovered a new world buff for SoD Players! This world buff will likely follow the previous world buffs for Gnomeregan and Blackfathom Deeps, cast in capital cities after turning in a boss drop to a quest NPC. As we continued datamining Phase 3 Season of Discovery, we were able to add the new level 50 PvP item sets into our database, which you can view below. These are entirely new sets designed for level 50, which Blizzard commented are supposed to be «stepping stone» sets to the higher level ones at level 60.

Another discovery in our continued datamining of Phase 3 are several new spells to Replace Supplies, seemingly an extension of the Waylaid Supply system in Classic Season of Discovery! The spells all request some type of profession item to complete a shipment, seemingly similar to the Waylaid Supply system, which are turned in to gain reputation with the Azeroth Commerce Authority and Durotar Supply and Logistics, though these new supplies only require one item while the previous waylaid shipments required several.

There are a lot of new items coming in Phase 3 of Classic Season of Discovery, including several awesome new weapon models! Please note that these are not all of the new weapons coming in Phase 3, just those which have particularly interesting or new appearances! There are also recolors of familiar items like Tooth of Eranikus and duplicate appearances of other items like the Eclipsed Bloodlight Saber, which are not included here.

With Season of Discovery Phase 3 datamining we found many different new items, likely connected to the new Sunken Temple level-up raid. Earlier today we published an article detailing everything we know about the new Sunken Temple Raid, which is a 20-player raid with 8 bosses. Blizzard still has some secrets in store, as we're not sure which boss drops each item. There are also new items that form a set for each armor proficiency!

With this week's Cataclysm Beta build, Blizzard has added more optional assets to the client in the shape of upscale resolution textures for the game. These are not currently usable by players in the beta but are dataminable. While normal WoW textures are 64x64 pixels, these new uprezzed textures are 256x256 pixels, or 16 times more detailed. Below are a couple of examples. These textures represent an extra 30 gigabytes of storage space compared to the normal client. However, we datamined some strings in the first build that indicate that these will be optional, so most players likely won't need to download them if they aren't looking to use them. Remember that Blizzard still hasn't announced anything definitive about upscaled graphics, but there were talks at BlizzCon about them, so we may see them in Cataclysm.
