Tarisland has opened up its Chinese beta, and the team is sharing a few screenshots and details while we all wait for future global testing.
The game had its second global closed beta back in November, and the team has since been discussing changes they’re implementing in response to community feedback. That feedback covered everything from gameplay, progression, to of course, monetization for Tencent’s game that the team was calling not pay to win. In our impressions at the time, Kanishka covered many of the initial issues, but there have been a number of dev updates since walking us through work they’re doing in development.
While Tarisland is still being worked on, a new test does give a little bit of a peek for the curious, though there are just some details and some screenshots to chew over for now. As for those improvements, among them are removing the gender lock from classes, PvE improvements, fairer monetization, and more.
In a post on the official Discord announcing the start of the Chinese beta, many of the announced changes to crafting, PvE, some of the paid content, and PvP reworks, are included. What isn’t included are some of the first added class models, “Many of the updates we've shared in our Dev Update series will be present in this CN Test (except for the Female Paladin and Male Mage)”, it reads.
Still, they caution that everything is still not final, and things are still deep in development. We’ll have to wait a little longer to hear more on the next global test and how the announced optimizations and improvements will hold.
Tarisland’s Jeya has begun sharing bits of the experience via screenshots over on Discord, and the community is also invited to leave comments and questions in the channel.

A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs, a World of Warcraft toy added to Noblegarden last year, now works with Dracthyr, allowing the characters to carry the basket in their mouths just like their Dragonriding mounts. This hilarious and adorable interaction was made possible thanks to changes to the Dracthyr Soar racial ability in a previous World of Warcraft patch.
Sony said earlier this year that it wouldn’t be releasing any new instalments in existing major franchises until at least April 2025, and though that certainly sparked some concern in the PlayStation fanbase, it seems the company does have other, smaller things in store to make up for the lack of its typical flagship releases.

Silent Hill 2 has been rated by the ESRB.
PlayStation suggested earlier this year that the Silent Hill 2 remake would be out sometime in 2024, but other than repeated assurances that the game is in the final stages of development, neither Konami nor developer Bloober Team have said anything at all about a launch date. Recent developments have, however, indicated that that could change in the not-too-distant future.
