A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs, a World of Warcraft toy added to Noblegarden last year, now works with Dracthyr, allowing the characters to carry the basket in their mouths just like their Dragonriding mounts. This hilarious and adorable interaction was made possible thanks to changes to the Dracthyr Soar racial ability in a previous World of Warcraft patch.
Last year, World of Warcraft added a new Dragonriding toy to the vendors for Noblegarden, the in-game event counterpart to Easter. The toy, called A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs, equips one’s Dragonriding drake with a festive basket full of painted eggs for a short while when used. It can be used all year, but it has a reduced cooldown during Noblegarden.
However, some players have discovered a new interaction with this toy that wasn’t there last year. In patch 10.2.5, World of Warcraft buffed the Dracthyr Soar racial ability to count as full-fledged dynamic flying, enabling the draconic characters to forgo mounts entirely. WoW fan StevieNix discovered that this change had an unintended side effect – since Dracthyr now count as Dragonriding mounts, A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs lets them carry the basket in their mouths as well. They shared the results of their discovery on Twitter.
It remains to be seen if this interaction was intentional, or a side effect of the way Dracthyr are classified when they use Soar, but fans have gotten a kick out of the toy regardless. Plenty of players have picked up this Dragonriding toy, but this new interactivity has made it a must-get for many Dracthyr fans. If it was an accident, hopefully, World of Warcraft will keep it so these players can continue to be delighted.
Noblegarden itself received a small facelift this year, with a handful of new quests, rewards, and activities to complete. Many of these new features revolve around ducks, which were finally introduced to World of Warcraft in Dragonflight.
Unfortunately, not everything with the event is perfect. The Duck Disguiser, a new toy added this year, has gotten some flack from World of Warcraft fans due to it taking six years to unlock. While some are dissatisfied with parts of the event, at least Dracthyr players can find joy in this new interaction with A Drake’s Big Basket of Eggs.
