World of Warcraft quietly removed a part of the WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria announcement that said it was adding new character slots to each player’s account. While this likely won’t affect many fans, those who already have 60 characters on their World of Warcraft account might want to make room before Patch 10.2.7 launches.
Recently, World of Warcraft announced WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. This limited-time PvE event allows players to experience Mists of Pandaria with modern class balance and convenience, gain experience at a faster rate, and unlock tons of new and hard-to-get cosmetics in the process.
However, World of Warcraft just made a change to this inaugural Remix event that players should be aware of. In Blizzard’s original announcement blog, WoW said “Additional character slots will be available so that you have room for your new fully leveled and fully geared hero to join you in your continuing adventures through the Worldsoul Saga.” World of Warcraft later quietly removed this section of the announcement, indicating it no longer has plans to increase character slots on each server.
Technically speaking, Blizzard could still have plans to add these new character slots alongside other changes coming in World of Warcraft Patch 10.2.7, but considering the removed text, fans should not get their hopes up. While the majority of players don’t have 60 characters on their accounts – and many that do don't have them all at maximum level already – some “altaholics” will likely need to bid farewell to at least one of their existing characters.
That said, fans won’t want to miss out on World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria, as the throwback event has been a huge hit among players who have tried it on the Public Test Realm. Beyond the refreshing gameplay via powerful new equipment and activated abilities, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria actually ties into the lore of Dragonflight by involving the Infinite Dragons. Collectors, raiders, and lore hounds alike will all have good reasons to check out this new event.
In the meantime, players can enjoy Plunderstorm, a limited-time PvP event that is still ongoing. World of Warcraft recently announced Plunderstorm is ending on April 30, but Renown gains will be doubled for the last two weeks of the event, so fans should still be able to get all the rewards from the piratical battle royale before Patch 10.2.7 releases, likely some time in the middle of May.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and is the ninth expansion pack for the iconic massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft.
Dragonflight features an overhauled user interface, raises the level cap to 70, and introduces a new race and class.
