The post-apocalyptic city of Black Stella Ptolomea is revving up for relaunch on March 28th, 2024. That’s right, after a four-month hiatus that felt longer than a Tokyo summer without ramen, the game returns with a fresh coat of paint – or maybe a whole new reconstruction project! The team went in for what they call “large-scale improvements and renovations.”
Let’s be honest, four months in the maintenance bay is a pretty long time. Imagine hitting pause on your favourite show, only to come back and find out they’ve filmed a new season!
The wait had some players wondering what was going on under the hood. The developers were tinkering under the chassis to ensure the engine was purring and the experience was smooth.
The team admired the core of Black Stella Ptolomea, but they realized it needed some serious upgrades to keep pace. So, they decided to take it into the garage for a significant overhaul.
Basically, they’re aiming to make everything feel more modern and exciting. The devs thought that while the game had a heart, it needed more muscle.
In case you’re new to the game or your memory needs a jog after the long break, here’s a quick rundown. Black Stella Ptolomea throws you into a future Tokyo that’s seen better days. You take on the role of a hero leading a team through this unforgiving urban jungle.
The combat system lets you control a team of five characters, with three brawling it out at a time and two waiting in the wings.
Each turn is your chance to throw in basic attacks or special abilities you’ve unlocked as you progress through the game. The more battles you fight, the stronger your characters become and the more powerful their ultimate attacks get. There’s also a strategic element with different character types and an elemental system to master.
To get more of a rundown of the game, visit its official website or wait for March 28th to get it on the Play Store!
