is filled to the brim with nefarious creatures and feral monsters that want the Tarnished dead, yet there are a few NPCs that one could consider an ally. Rogier is one such character, a Glintstone Sorcerer, who is first met on the way to Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle. Should a player choose to interact with Rogier, they will learn that he is on a quest of his own, and the sorcerer will ask the Tarnished to retrieve The Black Knifeprint for him.
[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Elden Ring.]
The Black Knifeprint is found in the Black Knife Catacombs, and its item description reads, It is tied to the death of Godwin the Golden, whose assassination sparked the Shattering, leading to the events players see in It is vital to the game's lore and even more vital to its characters.
The Black Knifeprint is not the easiest item to get. The Tarnished must complete the Black Knife Catacombs dungeon, located in the north-east section of the Liurnia of the Lakes, and is guarded by a Mausoleum Knight. Although the majority of the dungeon poses little challenge by 'sstandards, the boss who drops the Knifeprint is no push over. They are a Black Knife Assassin, and the speed of their attacks makes fighting in the confined boss room difficult for newer players.
If struggling to beat the Black Knife Assassin, consider calling for help. If interacted with before, D, Hunter of the Dead, can be summoned to aid in the fight, making it much easier.
Although Rogier, who is destined to die at this point in the story, seems like he will do very little with the Knifeprint, it is vital to completing Fia's questline and unlocking one of the game's endings. It also reveals a great deal about 's deep lore, such as Lunar Princess Ranni being the one to orchestrate the Night of the Black Knives plot. Without giving Rogier this item, a great deal of content is missed, and some NPCs will never have their questline finished.
A fair number of characters are involved in the plot around Rogier and the Black Knifeprint. Should a player want to see more from D, Fia, Rogier and others, giving the sorcerer the print is the only way forward. It also provides the Tarnished with a reason to venture beneath the Erdtree, in the Deeproot Depths, and fight arguably one of the game's coolest bosses, the lightning-wielding Lichdragon Fortissax. For completionists, there is no reason not to give Rogier what he wants.
Like with any questline made by FromSoftware in its so-called Soulsborne games, the results of Fia and Rogier's quests are quite depressing. The unassuming venture into the Black Knife Catacombs leads to the death of many Roundtable Hold members. Although there is no saving Sorcerer Rogier after he is inflicted
Over two years since its release, Elden Ring players are still completing the game in a variety of weird and wonderful ways.
Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree will release in June 2024, but even if you buy it day one, you might not be able to access the Elden Ring DLC expansion’s new overworld areas and dungeons right away. This is an add-on aimed squarely at those in the later stages of the game, as FromSoftware’s own Elden Lord Hidetaki Miyazaki has revealed in a new Famitsu interview – to gain access, you must first defeat two of the main game’s nastier bosses. Yes, I know that all Elden Ring bosses are nasty, but these two are among the worst, in my experience.
's much anticipated DLC, titled, has made its players wait for its release. 2022's Game of the Year was released two years ago, and in the time since, FromSoftware remained relatively quiet about its expansion until recently. Since the drop of the latest trailer for the DLC, it has many fans counting down the days until they are able to once again delve into the Lands Between, but is this something that the community will regret?
An Elden Ring player has noticed an interesting change that occurs to the Erdtree after defeating Maliketh, the Black Blade. The game's world, also known as the Lands Between, is enormous and filled with various surprises that many players miss even after spending hundreds of hours exploring.
The Collector's Edition of Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree comes with 18 inches of impalement.
is already a massive game but one dedicated dataminer learned that FromSoftware's RPG was originally intended to be even more gigantic. As players explore the massive world of The Lands Between, they'll uncover a couple of notable underground areas that not only serve as a fresh change of pace from the fields of Limgrave but also pose a significant challenge thanks to their more claustrophobic environments. As it turns out, the developers originally intended for there to be even more of these locales as well as a unique mechanic that would have altered the world completely.
A dataminer has found some cut underground content hidden in Elden Ring. From players discovering new caves, illusory walls, and secret bosses, FromSoftware’s masterpiece is packed with things to find. Some secrets can’t be found by playing the game itself. Elden Ring has some hidden cut content buried deep within its files, which one YouTuber has been digging into.
Most players have likely been invaded by either Mad Tongue Alberich or Ensha of the Royal Remains, if not both, without totally understanding why. Alberich is a sorcerer who first appears on the lower level of 's Roundtable Hold. This fight is practically inexplicable at first, requiring players to leap off of the balcony where Rogier settles in at the hub area. Mad Tongue Alberich has no dialogue and only drops assorted multiplayer items, but some other hints throughout the game can help contextualize his place in 's lore.
A subtle detail opens a rabbit hole of violence, stretching back centuries into the Lands Between's past. As is usually the case with From Software games, 's lore is deliberately mysterious and obtuse. Rarely do characters offer comprehensive explanations directly to the player, and even when they do, they almost always do so with ulterior motives. For the most part, it's up to the player to piece together stories by looking closely at certain details. Recurring trends, out-of-place objects, and item flavor text can reveal a wealth of information about the world of.
Elden Ring players are defeating some of the game's largest and toughest bosses with a unique bubble build. Since it was released in 2022, FromSoftware's open-world action RPG has seen the popularization of a variety of broken strategies that arguably messed with the overall balance of the game, and even now, new approaches to Elden Ring's many challenging boss fights are still emerging.
An Elden Ring player has come across a new cave in Limgrave, and what's surprising is the fact that they found it on their sixth playthrough. While many players use New Game Plus runs to try out new weapons and builds,Elden Ring is one game where players often find new intricacies in almost every subsequent playthrough.
Many fans consider Malenia to be the toughest boss in all of Elden Ring, but there are three bosses that have been beaten even fewer times. Like FromSoftware's other games, Elden Ring is notable for its high difficulty level and memorable boss battles. The game's open world is filled with all kinds of exciting boss encounters, though only a handful are necessary for those that want to beat the game.
