From our review:
The core of Elemental is about cross-cultural relationships and the pressure of being a second-generation immigrant living up to parental expectations, while trying to figure out what you actually want out of life. John Carney plays the hits. Ever since his 2007 breakout indie Once, which catapulted beloved singer-songwriters Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová to massive fame, Carney has made musical dramas his calling card. The Irish writer-director delights in films about people connecting with each other over music, falling in love with song as they learn to love each other and themselves.

A highly important yet understated aspect of a fighting game is The Announcer. The voice that says every character and stage when they are selected adds that extra bit of style that can really make a game stand out in your memory. Mortal Kombat 1 has a strong default Announcer with a booming sound that prepares you for the violent encounter that is about to unfold. That being said, the game does give you the ability to change the voice of The Announcer to members of the cast, though you will need to unlock them first. Some of you might even have some of these alternate voices unlocked but don’t know how to apply them while others will want to know how to get every announcer in the game. So, allow me to explain both. This guide will tell players how to change the voice of The Announcer and how to unlock new voices in Mortal Kombat 1.
Happy Friday, Polygon readers!

Learning who the guest fighters are going to be in the next Mortal Kombat game has become as big a part of the build-up to its release as the reveal of the base roster. Among the guest stars in Mortal Kombat 1 are John Cena's Peacemaker, Invincible's Omni-Man, and Homelander from The Boys. However, while the gamers are focusing on the now, they’re also focusing on the future. Specifically, they’re focusing on the Kombat Pack that’ll debut in the coming months. The pack will feature not only Kombatants from past titles but also three 3rd party characters that are sure to make things even more interesting. But what might surprise people is that one character almost made it into the game from the beginning: John Wick.
