The developer behind Nintendo’s upcoming Princess Peach: Showtime! Has reportedly been unearthed.
According to credible dataminer ‘LuigiBlood’, the files for the game’s just-released demo show that it uses a naming convention associated with Japanese studio Good-Feel, the developer behind many first-party spin-off games.
Good-Feel, which recently celebrated its 18th anniversary, expanded with the opening of an Osaka office in 2020.
The studio has developed exclusively for Nintendo platforms since its formation (in terms of consoles, at least), with its past releases including Wario Land: Shake It, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and Yoshi’s Woolly World.
According to LuigiBlood, the numerical project name for Princess Peach: Showtime! Suggests it could have been working on the game since at least 2019.
Princess Peach Showtime is set to be released on March 22.
In a recent hands-on preview, VGC wrote: “As its marketing suggests, Princess Peach: Showtime! really embraces the stage theme, with a ton of gameplay variety and charm packed into a tight production.
“In just an hour, we were able to play through four stages, with each typically comprising a unique mechanic, setpiece and ‘boss’ challenge.”

Princess Peach: Showtime! is here, giving the Mushroom Kingdom monarch a chance to break out of the damsel role and do a little world-saving of her own. Nintendo’s latest first party game has officially released, a brand new game featuring Princess Peach called Princess Peach Showtime. The last time we had a game featuring this Princess was back in the DS area with Super Princess Peach. With this game releasing, it is a big deal as we haven’t had a game centering around our female Mario character in a long time.
Now Princess Peach: Showtime is out, it's time to talk about the feel-good comeback of an old-school director we've got thanks to the studio behind it.
After Super Princess Peach in 2005, Nintendo’s iconic princess takes the center stage once more in Princess Peach: Showtime! It’s available now for Nintendo Switch and features Peach going up against the sorceress Grape and her minions, the Sour Bunch, teaming up with the guardian Stella to save Sparkle Theater. Check out the launch trailer below.
You’d be mistaken if you thought that Princess Peach: Showtime! was the iconic regal character’s first ever title role.
Princess Peach might be the one who takes center stage in her action-adventure game but it is really her variety of costumes that deserves the spotlight. Each costume that Peach changes into transforms her into an entirely different character. Whether becoming a swordfighter, ninja, or even a mermaid, Peach loses her normal skills in favor of more thematically appropriate abilities and skills with each outfit.

Nintendo has been keeping a tight lid on the developer behind Princess Peach: Showtime! since it was announced last year.
Nintendo’s Princess Peach Showtime is the first game in over 25 years directed by Goemon designer Etsunobu Ebisu, it’s been revealed.
If there was one thing I could count on growing up in the ’90s, it was the weekly family trip to Blockbuster. While my mom or dad browsed the new movies, I took my baby sister’s hand and headed straight to the video game section. More often than not, I knew what I was renting: The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie, a Super Nintendo Entertainment System game released by Capcom in 1994. I was charmed by the fact that I could play as Minnie — and that Minnie could transform into different characters, like a makeshift Ghostbuster with a vacuum that sucks up enemies, a jungle explorer that gave her acrobatic moves, or a cowgirl with a pop gun and hobby horse. The game was a staple in my childhood playtime until it suddenly wasn’t anymore.
