It’s that time of the week where we ruminate on how we’ve spent our time, and wonder whether it was a useful way to spend our lives. Of course, the video game portion of it will always be unassailable, and I’ve been leaping, running and flying my way through the rather excellent Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. I also chilled out for a while with Abzu, before definitely not chilling out with the action-packed Asgard’s Wrath 2.
Aran was first up this week, and he played the DLC for Shadow Gambit with both being very good, if bittersweet additions to Mimimi’s final game. That’s not everything though, and he told us, “I’ve also been playing more Yakuza LAD and after multiple tries, I finally beat THAT boss fight in Chapter 12.” Great work!
Nic B played a whole bunch of Monster Hunter Now! He said, “The new update dropped today, bringing a bunch of new weapons, armour and monsters, which is pretty exciting. Beyond that, I finished Alan Wake 2 and I’m eagerly awaiting New Game Plus.”
Having something of a banger week, Tuffcub has played Destiny 2, Arizona Sunshine 2, Predecessor (Closed Beta) and Prodeus. He revelled in playing things other than Destiny 2, exclaiming, “Get me playing games again!” This is definitely what we like.
While Nick P has been ill for nearly two weeks (booooo), he’s managed to get my Platinum trophy on both FF16 and RoboCop: Rogue City (woooooo!). He told us. “They’re both very enjoyable games! I’ve now moved on to Persona 5 Tactica!” I sense another Platinum coming his way.
Gamoc has played Train Sim World 4 and Coral Island for review. Speaking about Coral Island, he says, “I’ve been farming for days. It turns out farming involves spending very large amount of time diving in the ocean and using a sickle to remove trash so you can eventually find an ancient tech that will remove the oil that’s damaging the ocean.” He’s also played some Divinity Original Sin 2, Vampire Survivors, Steamworld Build, and Beat Saber.
It’s been a busy week for Steve, with the highlight being the wonderful Highland Song, backed up solid turns from Blood West and Undying. He says, “Neither of them are quite what I was expecting for different reasons. I also enjoyed a little demo for a sweet oil-cleaning boat game called Spilled! that I’d recommend, played some Mcpixel 3 for daily achievements but the Rewards end is broken at the moment. Finally. I have almost finished Infernal: Hell’s Vengeance on 360 and the nostalgia is definitely wearing thin. Awful controls and dodgy level design remind me that we have come a long way since the late 2000s.”
And finally, having played Last Train Home last week, then been on trains for a very long time last weekend, Tef has continued to play Last Train Home this week. Choo-choo?
