Xbox Game Pass just added another big survival horror game to the catalog. This first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for February included the addition of Resident Evil 3. While Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake achieved an impressive 6.48 million units sold, the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 continue to sell well. According to the publisher’s updated Platinum Titles list, the former is at 13.6 million units sold since launching in 2019, up from its last milestone of 13.13 million sold.

Capcom has been on a roll regarding the Resident Evil franchise. We’ve seen a consistent flow of new games released over the years, but not all are about continuing the storyline. It wasn’t too long ago that Capcom brought out the remake of Resident Evil 2. With as much hype and success as they had with this game release, it wasn’t surprising to see more remakes released. Resident Evil 4 is the latest release for the franchise and is also a remake. Capcom has issued a significant price drop for the Resident Evil 4 remake, letting gamers buy the game at $39.99, $20 off its usual asking price of $59.99. The Resident Evil 4 remake was one of the highest-rated new game releases of 2023. It found itself nominated for multiple awards at The Game Awards last year, and it proved to be a monumental sales success for developer/publisher Capcom at the same time.
