A new God of War Remake fan concept video within Unreal Engine 5 has been released, and we're sure that Kratos fans will appreciate it.
Created by digital artist and YouTuber 'Teaserplay' (the artist known for various other fan concepts within UE5, including a recent possible GTA 6 ending) this concept video shows Kratos from the original 2005 God of War in ancient Greece. The video uses Epic's Nanite and Lumen tech, path tracing, and ray tracing. The result is quite impressive, although there's something off about Kratos' model. We're pretty sure that fans of the original God of War games would love to see a remaster featuring the 'young' Kratos, and this fan imagining provides a glimpse of how such a remaster might look. Then again, chances are slim that we'll ever see a proper remaster of the original games. Also, this fan concept uses Epic's latest game engine while Sony's Santa Monica Studio uses its own proprietary engine. Check out the video below, and judge for yourself if you like this fan concept:
Released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, God of War was among the best-looking games for the system upon release. More than 4.6 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide. Sony Santa Monica's game won various Game of the Year awards. We've included some parts of the official 2004 press release from Sony about the title below:
