The Last of Us: Part 2 Actor Jeffrey Wright Reportedly Reprising Role in Season 2 of HBO's Adaptation | Push Square

A PC port of The Last of Us 2 Remastered seems to very much be a foregone conclusion at this point, but a new report from insider Billbil-Kun suggests it's so inevitable that Sony has actually already done the work and is now sitting on the new version. The former PS Plus leaker suggests development of the PC port was completed as far back as November 2023, over six months ago.

Love it or loathe it, The Last of Us 2’s story is a complicated beast, with many overlapping threads and a lot of ground to cover. It’s perhaps not overly surprising that the director of HBO’s adaptation Craig Mazin is plotting at least two seasons of television to tell the tale – and that could potentially spill over into a third as well.

The second season of HBO’s The Last of Us will run for seven episodes, it’s been confirmed.

Yesterday, The Last of Us show co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann unveiled plenty of new details on Season 2 of the HBO series. The upcoming season will be a bit shorter, having only seven episodes compared to the original season's nine. However, the creators confirmed Season 3 would be larger, and Season 4 is also practically guaranteed due to the sheer length of the source material (Part II is twice as long as the original game). Here's what Craig Mazin told Deadline:

After HBO recently offered a first glimpse at what Joel and Ellie will look like in the upcoming season with two new images, co-series co creators and showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have offered further tidbits on the future of the show in an interview with Deadline.

Somehow, it's already been almost a year and a half since the first season of The Last of Us arrived on HBO. Things are well underway with the second season, and we've known for a while that it won't premiere until 2025. We still don't know exactly when to expect it (though given that they're well into shooting, an early-year debut isn't out of the question), but we do now know that season two will only have seven episodes.
