The Last of Us: all the news about the video game franchise turned TV series

More than 90 years after it first made a splash in the toy market, you can turn just about anything you like into Lego. That includes a number of elements from the video game world as Mario has his very own Lego Mushroom Kingdom, and even Horizon's Tallneck has its own set. There's still a lot more from the video game world that can be turned into elaborate Lego sets, and Guide Strats has created some models in an attempt to find out what some of gaming's most famous buildings might look like if they were shrunk down and made of Lego.

No matter what industry you work in, there is always a chance for layoffs. In many ways, it’s one of the biggest things people fear. After all, they could be happy and think they have a long-term solution to their money problems one day, and then the next day comes, and they’re told it’s their last day at work due to “corporate changes,” or “cost-saving moves” or some words of the like. One might feel that the Video Game Industry, with its various successful studios and titles, would be immune from this. But as the website Video Game Layoffs has noted, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

It is beginning to look like 2025 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years in video games, if not the biggest.

These days, a “water cooler” conversation can flare up and burn out in days. It’s rare to see any movie or TV show still spark any kind of unifying online discussion more than a week after its debut on a new platform, or after the final episode airs. For every Barbie or Oppenheimer or Barbenheimer, where critics, fans, reactors, streamers, podcasters, and others keep talking about the project for months after its debut, there are dozens of Netflix shows where the conversation stops after release weekend, or would-be blockbusters that make some money at the box office, but that viewers seem to have forgotten before the final credit rolls.

Some fans think that Starfield should take some inspiration from the Fallout series by introducing floating robots and drones to the game. With the game being set in the year 2330, these fans think that Starfield's futuristic theme would have no issue introducing artificial constructs such as these. Considering that the game is very tech-based, it could add more depth to robot-related gameplay and change up a few mechanics to make Starfield's hypothetical drones even more interesting.

The teaser video was then followed up with a secondary tweet, which revealed that the currently unnamed Indiana Jones game is being developed by MachineGames - the team that has brought us the Wolfenstein series.

As its long credits rolled, I paced around my small apartment living room unpacking what transpired. I adored the sequel’s first two acts and its multifaceted discussion of cyclical violence, but I found myself critical of its California-set finale. It seemed to backtrack on all the nuance of Ellie and Abbey’s struggle by introducing a definitively evil faction that I wouldn’t feel bad about shooting with a machine gun. It was a discordant note at the end of a symphony, but I was determined to dig below my surface and try to understand what Naughty Dog was going for. It had earned that.
