Nintendo has finally confirmed that Sora will be getting his own amiibo figure.
As confirmed during today’s Nintendo Direct, the Kingdom Hearts character, who appeared in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, will become an amiibo in 2024.
This will mark the end of the Super Smash Bros series of amiibo figures, with every character in the game finally represented as a physical figurine.
Sora joined Banjo and Kazooie, the hero from Dragon Quest, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and Steve from Minecraft as guest characters in the game.
“I knew that Sora was the most requested fighter,” Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai said last year, citing a poll that was released when Super Smash Bros was on the Wii U and 3DS. It was decided not to reveal the results at the time, so as not to place extra pressure on Square Enix.
Around the announcement of Sora joining Super Smash Bros Ultimate, series boss Masahiro Sakurai said “The next DLC fighter will be the last one,” he said. “There won’t be anymore after that.

He then went on to say there was “no way” the series would be able to have as many fighters or series represented again in future games.

It's not often that one of the biggest takeaways from a Direct is whatever amiibos Nintendo has to show off, but that was the case on Thursday. Tucked in between news about a long list of upcoming Mario games was confirmation Sora really will be getting amiibo, and it will complete the Ultimate collection in 2024. Also revealed were release dates for a number of other upcoming amiibos, including Tears of the Kingdom's Zelda and Ganondorf which are now available to pre-order.
After reminding viewers during the Sept. 14 Nintendo Direct that new amiibos of Princess Zelda and Ganondorf would be coming on Nov. 3, both went up for pre-order on Best Buy for $15.99 each. You can try your luck at placing an order now. These amiibo are based on the variants of these characters from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (heard of it?).
