Starting October 26th, players can jump into the free-to-play team-based shooter, THE FINALS, as Embark Studios is hosting its first cross-platform open beta test for the game.
THE FINALS is a team-based shooter that presents as a combat game show, where teams compete for fame, riches and sponsorships. The gameplay highlights creative freedom, as well as the sheer level of destruction players can bring to the environments, all inspired by real-world locations.
The upcoming open beta will bring a new map to the rotation unavailable in previous closed beta testing, the Skyway Stadium. The new map joins arenas set in Monaco and Seoul, each providing their own unique experiences and approaches for players to overcome to get to the top of the leaderboards. Multiple game modes will also be in rotation, from the Quick Cash casual mode with faster respawn timers, extraction times, and more, as well as a new Bank-It mode pitting four teams against each other to collect coins while taking out the other teams in the process.
The upcoming open beta also features a free battlepass with 16 rewards to unlock during the test, each of which players will be able to keep when the full game finally goes live.
THE FINALS doesn't yet have a release date, but the open beta will run on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X starting on October 26th and runs through November 5th. We previewed THE FINALS earlier this year, calling it a «refreshing take» on the arena shooter format.
