Starfield Collector’s Edition Watches Have Started Breaking

Starfield has been in the hands of fans for quite a while now, giving the game's modding community ample time to start creating some pretty weird and wonderful creations. All the classic Bethesda game mods have already been added, like Thomas the Tank Engine, killable essential quest givers, and the expected quality of life patch that comes with all of the studio's releases on PC.

One incredibly lucky Starfield player has stumbled onto a space pirate that was three times their level and, somehow, walked away with both their life and a sweet legendary rifle. 

As Starfield developers begin to depart Bethesda after the release of the studio's massive RPG, some fans are despondently casting their minds forward to the eventual departure of studio lead Todd Howard.

When launched back in September 2023, there were several different versions available for purchase. The standard edition was available on day one via the Xbox and PC Game Pass subscriptions, while other special editions and upgrades came with bonus content and early access to the game when pre-ordered.

Even my crusty old heart has melted at seeing how much everyone loves Baldur's Gate 3's companion characters⁠—especially the actors who portrayed them. As reported by Polygon, after some reprised their roles for a High Rollers tabletop one-shot, many in the cast have been sharing playlists tailored to their characters.

Navigation in 's Starmap can be frustrating. Even for those who have invested hundreds of hours into the game, the base game for lacks proper labeling, which can make space navigation difficult. While astrological accuracy is undoubtedly something the game has achieved by correctly naming solar systems and planets after natural systems in the known galaxy, not everyone is an astronomer. This lack of decent labeling can make navigating to even the most well-known locations a hassle without the aid of auto-navigation on the mission screen.

How about a healthy dose of caution to kickstart the week? Insomniac Games warned that it was probably coming, and it has: major spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 are now doing the rounds online. At this point we've seen numerous screenshots and even a few videos across social media and various gaming forums, so if you're looking forward to playing the sandbox sequel later this month, we'd recommend being very careful.

Starfield is already the best-looking and most bug-free Bethesda RPG to date. From the crowded streets of New Atlantis to the desolate plains of all those undiscovered planets, it’s sharp, smooth, and a worthy visual successor to the likes of Fallout 4 and Skyrim. But now the Settled Systems can look even better, thanks to a huge new Starfield HD overhaul mod which boosts dozens of textures to 8K resolution.

Within the vast magnitude of space exploration in there are over 1,000 planets to discover and explore in a large open-world, or open-galaxy, adventure. Across the star systems, there are surprisingly few cities where groups of people have congregated, and much of civilization seems to have taken a bit of a step backward in some ways. Even the lack of good maps for the four major cities is a frustrating disappointment that can leave some wondering what happened to humanity's current reliance on navigation software and map programs, but even that is just a small part of a larger problem.

Like many previous Bethesda games, features a vast number of hidden details, secrets, and Easter eggs — it is not surprising that in a game with over 1000 planets and 100 star systems, although some are reasonably easy to locate or experience, others are exponentially harder to discover. These Easter eggs are, for the most part, wonderful references to pop culture, astronomy, history, and other Bethesda IPs; though being aware of one of the game's many references is rewarding, having to hunt for them and spend a great deal of time and effort in locating them only amplifies the reward.

As the name suggests, the Collector’s Edition of Starfield is an elaborate package for those who wanted more than just the Bethesda game. For $299.99, the bundle notably comes with a Steelbook display case, a patch with the Constellation logo, and a watch with its own custom case. However, some fans are now experiencing issues with the watch specifically, just one month after receiving it.

Owning a Starfield penthouse has one notable downside: you risk losing everything if the property is stationed in New Atlantis.
