Sonic Heroes Remake in Unreal Engine 5 in Development – Rumor

A reliable Persona leaker has claimed that a remake of Persona 4 is planned, but that we'll likely be waiting a while until we actually see it come to fruition.

Earlier today, it was claimed that a remake of Dead Space 2 was in development at publisher Electronic Arts, but had been shelved indefinitely due to the original game's poor sales. Reputable industry insider Jeff Grubb claimed that the title was in the "concept" phase, before EA Motive were taken off the project to work on a new Battlefield and Iron Man title.

Update: EA have now denied Grubb's claims that the Dead Space 2 remake was in development before being effectively cancelled, telling IGN: "We don't normally comment on rumors but there is no validity to this story." That report adds that the sequel wasn't considered for development to begin with, despite the first remake having performed well in EA's eyes, according to a source.

ProbablyMonsters, an independent game company founded in 2016 by former Bungie president and CEO Harold Ryan, has created a new team to develop a competitive multiplayer game in Unreal Engine 5. Led by former Bungie leader Chris Opdah, who has more than 20 years of experience as a game developer working on franchises like Halo and Destiny, Hidden Grove is the new team within ProbablyMonsters working on this multiplayer project.

In their small office tucked away in Quebec City, Canada, IGN sat down with three of Yellow Brick Games’ technical gurus: CTO Louis Tremblay, VFX Lead Raphaelle Dubois-Beauchamp, and Game Director and Co-Founder Frederic St-Laurent. Together we discussed the unique aspects of their upcoming game, Eternal Strands, which makes impressive use of Unreal Engine 5’s capabilities.

At GDC 2024, Canadian developer Piranha Games showcased new info and footage of MechWarrior 5: Clans, a standalone game and the first in a very long time to be narrative-focused in this franchise. As suggested by the game's title, this will be a Clan Invasion story (the first since 1995's MechWarrior 2), diving into the period that changed the politics of the Inner Sphere for good.
