Skybound Is Crowdfunding A Triple-A Invincible Game

The UK government has responded to a petition asking for "government intervention" to force the industry to keep video games "in a reasonably working state when support ends", rather than allowing them to become unplayable such as when online servers are shut down. The petition was prompted by the closure in March of ten-year-old Ubisoft racing game The Crew.

An Xbox gamer recently purchased a $5 copy of Ubisoft's Riders Republic, but it arrived while still in the plastic security case. Big box retailers like to lock their games in special plastic boxes that are designed to be unlocked using a specific tool. These anti-theft devices help companies stop potential shoplifters from stealing Xbox games and other products, though they aren't always 100% successful.

It's always sad to see a well-liked game completely shut down, especially when it was still being enjoyed by a handful of dedicated fans. That's exactly what happened with The Crew, an open world racing game that was released all the way back in 2015. Being a completely online title, once developer Ubisoft pulled the plug on the game's servers at the end of last month, it became completely unplayable for all owners.

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is finally set to debut on Steam. The sequel to Valiant Hearts: The Great War has been out for over a year, though it remained inaccessible to PC gamers for the majority of that time.

Ubisoft needs to sort us all out with a new Rayman video game, because the last two main entries have been absolute bangers. Instead of following up on the excellent Rayman Legends, though, everyone's favourite armless hero is getting his very own board game, imaginatively named Rayman: the Board Game.

The classic card game Sabacc will finally be playable in Star Wars Outlaws, as revealed by the game’s ESRB rating. Ubisoft and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora developer Massive Entertainment announced that they were working on an open-world Star Wars game back in 2021, but it wasn’t until last June’s Xbox Games showcase that fans learned what it was going to be about. Star Wars Outlaws will put players in the role of Kay Vess, an aspiring outlaw looking to make her mark on the criminal underworld by pulling a massive heist against the rising Zerek Besh organization.

Star Wars Outlaws will have an optional Ultrawide display to make it "one of the most cinematic games of all time."

Star Wars Outlaws is not out for a few more months, but as the release date slowly approaches, the game's ESRB rating summary revealed that a popular and nearly-forgotten card game is set to return as a playable mini-game.

The Invincible IP has seen roaring success with its comic books and the Amazon Prime animated series, and it looks like Skybound Entertainment now has its sights set on video games. The company has announced a crowdfunding campaign that will raise partial funds for the development of a AAA Invincible game.
