Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is finally set to debut on Steam. The sequel to Valiant Hearts: The Great War has been out for over a year, though it remained inaccessible to PC gamers for the majority of that time.
The war-themed puzzle adventure celebrated its first anniversary in late January. At that time, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home was still a Netflix exclusive confined to Android and iOS devices. Ubisoft did treat it to a wider release in early March 2024, bringing it to the Switch and the latest two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC, albeit only via its own digital storefront.
The fact that this surprise wave of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home ports ended up skipping Steam did not raise many eyebrows, as that's pretty much standard practice for new Ubisoft titles nowadays. What is much more surprising is that this period of Ubisoft Store PC exclusivity ostensibly won't be particularly long. That's suggested by the fact that Ubisoft has already launched Steam and Epic Games Store pages for Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, both of which appeared on April 20.
Although neither of the newly emerged listings contains pricing information, Ubisoft generally maintains price parity across storefronts. Meaning that the Steam and EGS versions of Valiant Hearts: Coming Home will likely retail at $14.99, the same as their Ubisoft Store counterpart. While Steam lists it as «coming soon,» its Epic Games Store page includes a concrete release date: May 24. Assuming this availability information is accurate, it's plausible that the Steam version will also debut in late May.

Neither storefront includes any mention of Valiant Hearts: The Collection, the bundle containing both games in the puzzle adventure series that Ubisoft introduced in early March, along with the Coming Home console ports. That particular two-pack retails at $24.99 on the Ubisoft Store, thus offering a 16% discount compared to buying its full-priced contents individually.
Ubisoft's games have been skipping Steam at launch since 2019. Most of them would then take years to reach Valve's storefront, and that's only after the company decided to return to selective Steam publishing in late 2022, following a three-year period of avoiding the platform entirely. In that context, the ten-week Ubisoft Store exclusivity period that Valiant Hearts: Coming Home now appears to be looking at seems fairly short. Steam is even getting its first day-one Ubisoft game in five years on May 14, when The Rogue Prince of Persia is launching in early access.

Tom Clancy's XDefiant is almost upon us. Ubisoft is releasing the free-to-play first-person shooter on May 21 for the Xbox Series X|S, the PS5 and PC through Ubisoft Connect. The developer is kicking things off with the preseason version of the game, which is scheduled to last for six weeks before XDefiant's first season officially starts. Ubisoft announced the game way back in 2021, promising team-based matches with a focus on gunplay that will include elements from other games in the Tom Clancy universe.
XDefiant, Ubisoft's free-to-play first-person shooter, finally has a release date. After hitting delays, the game's preseason will launch on May 21 across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X via Ubisoft Connect. According to the studio, XDefiant will feature five different game modes across 14 maps at launch. Players will start out with 24 weapons and 44 attachments and can try out five playable factions inspired by Ubisoft franchises.
Good news, people whose day-to-day lives are woefully short on blingy Clancified squad-murdering. Ubisoft's elusive free-to-play shooter XDefiant finally has a release date, 21st May 2024. Or at least, that's when the preseason launches, providing six weeks of access to the modes, maps and factions from last month's server test.
Ubisoft's upcoming multiplayer arena shooter XDefiant has bravely positioned itself as a potential rival to Call of Duty, though it feels like it's been in development for a century. After several test sessions and community feedback, Ubisoft has finally announced a release date for the title, as we'll finally be able to hop into some fast-paced multiplayer action when the game drops later this month on May 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
XDefiant, Ubisoft's Call of Duty rival, has finally revealed its new release date of May 21. When it was first revealed in 2021, XDefiant was met with confusion and criticism from Ubisoft fans. Since then, after several playtest periods and a beta last summer, sentiment surrounding the FPS improved, as it featured sound gunplay and engaging combat, though it ultimately wasn't as polished as Call of Duty. Despite the positive response, the title was hit with several more delays, one in October and another this past March, leaving the fate of the game up in the air.
Ubisoft’s XDefiant, a first-person shooter meant to take on the likes of Call of Duty, will finally get a wide release and enter its Preseason on May 21.
An Xbox gamer recently purchased a $5 copy of Ubisoft's Riders Republic, but it arrived while still in the plastic security case. Big box retailers like to lock their games in special plastic boxes that are designed to be unlocked using a specific tool. These anti-theft devices help companies stop potential shoplifters from stealing Xbox games and other products, though they aren't always 100% successful.
Before Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched for PC and consoles last October, Ubisoft announced that the game would also be coming to certain iOS devices in early 2024. Given that we’re now in May and that has yet to often, plans obviously changed, but the company has now announced a specific release date for the open world action-adventure title’s iOS port.
The newest Assassin’s Creed game will soon arrive on iPhone and iPad. Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the 2023 installment that takes you to ninth-century Baghdad, will be available on June 6 for the iPhone 15 Pro series and iPads with an M-series chip.
Following the conclusion of XDefiant’s Server Test Session on April 19th to 21st, executive producer Mark Rubin says a release date is coming “very soon.”
Martin Hultberg - once the director behind Ubisoft's looting, shooting The Division - now has his eyes on the fledgling get-in-and-go extraction shooter genre, which he reckons can still reach the "mass market."
Ubisoft and Microsoft appear to be tag-teaming a legal crackdown on people who try to pass off fake versions of Minecraft and Assassin's Creed official merchandise as the real thing.
